Chapter 31

I honestly don't remember how the chunin exams went, and I'm way too lazy to rewatch it, so... this is not going to be accurate, but I hope the events are still logic and realistic u.u

Kakashi's POV:

I woke up to the best feeling ever. Something I would never get used to, no matter how many times it happened. But that I was willing, and hoping, that it would remain the same forever. It was the warmth of (Y/n)'s body comfortably curled up to my side. Her light but deep breathing slightly hitting my neck, and her hand —so cute and small— laying on my chest, hugging me closer to her as if she needed me almost as much as I needed her. Then it was her legs, entwined with mines, so she'd hug me better.

I slowly began to grab a hold of everything as I started to wake up more, not being able to hold back a small smile, hugging her back, and just enjoying this: the peace and quiet, and the closeness to her. It was something simple, but it brought me so much calm and happiness...

After a while, once I was almost fully awake I turned my face slightly to her, wanting to watch her peaceful face. And again, another small smile appeared on my face while I watched her cute and soft (even if slightly chopped) lips being partly open. I brought my hand to her face, caressing it ever so slightly while getting her beautiful (h/c) hair out of her face. Even with all of her hair a mess, her full sleeping form, almost drooling; she still was the most beautiful woman to ever exist.

After thinking of that, I couldn't help but bringing my lips to her forehead, laying a long kiss which again made me smile as she responded by burying herself more and hugging me tighter from my neck. I couldn't bring myself to get up after that. How could I? She had just cradled up more against me. What was I supposed to do? Leave her there, alone in bed? Of course not. So I hugged her back while doing slight caresses on her hair. But then, the alarm rang. I quickly and deftly turned it off before she could wake up, but it kept going off, reminding me that I needed to get up. So in order not to wake her up with the sound of the alarm, I decided to actually get up.

It was pretty early on the day, maybe 7am or so. But the chunin exams were supposed to be starting later on the morning, and I still needed to meet with Tsunade by her request. There was still plenty of time though. In fact, my intentions were to meet with her, listen to what she wanted me to ask (which probably was asking for me to help some supervisor during the exams), and then come back soon enough to kiss (Y/n) good morning. Hopefully, she wouldn't even realize I was gone in the first place. And maybe I could even cook some breakfast for her? 'Listen to yourself Kakashi... Who have I become?' I couldn't help but think with a slight blush as I got ready to leave, taking a last peek to (Y/n)'s body sprawled all over my bed. And with that adorable sight, I left home with a small and happy smile. 

Just like I had imagined, Tsunade asked me to help some supervisors with the exam, especially during the second phase. Which luckily allowed me to get back home soon enough that (Y/n) was still as I had left her. Seeing her wrapped on my sheets in the dreamland, I decided that I could prepare breakfast for her.

I began to unhurriedly cook her favorite breakfast while reading one of my books. It was almost done when I started to feel her chakra frequency change slightly, letting me know she was probably beginning to wake up. I hurried to finish the food and took it out of the fire, cleaning my hands before walking to our bedroom.

When I was nearing the closed door I heard a slight complaint in a form of a groan, making me both curious and deep down a bit worried; but still, I walked nonchalantly to the bedroom.

(Y/N)'s POV:

I woke up to the big and cold bed, instead of the warmth of Kakashi's body next to mine. I pouted when I realized he must have been gone for a while, which made me let go of a small groan because I knew I should get up too. I tiredly turned my body to the side to look at the clock on his bedside table and only complained harder because of the time. It was then when the door opened, showing an unmasked although with his jonin attire Kakashi, peeking over the door.
