"Everything had happened so fast! I'm so so sorry! It's just so different here and it sort of took over my mind. I'm an awful person! You can stay here for as long as you like, but if you want you don't have to have anything to do with me-"
I felt a sharp pain in the top half of my arm.
"Ouch!" I squeaked.
"Don't you dare say that!" Eleanor scolded me.
"You punched me!" I whined rubbing the sore spot.
"I'll do a lot worse if you carry on!" She huffed shaking her hand, "listen to me! It's not your fault. You had no idea I was here, I've only been here for a day or two anyway so it's not as if you knew I was here and forgot."
Xaviers words relayed in my mind:
"I saw somebody in the woods and I didn't want your life to be in danger. So I went out searching for this person. It was a girl who claimed she meant no harm. I took her to the dungeons so that I could interrogate her and see if she had an ultimatum. But, you fucked off and got drunk so I didn't have the chance to tell you."
Holy shit!
"Holy shit!" I gasped.
El frowned, "what?"
"Xavier told me he found a girl in the woods yesterday morning! Was it you?" I asked.
She nodded her head, shuddering with fear as she recalled the memory. Her eyes glazed over as she sat there almost paralysed.
I frowned as I took in her sudden change in mood.
Reaching out, I placed my hand on her leg which automatically snapped her out of her trance.
Her eyes met mine and she looked pained almost but forced a smile.
"Are you okay?" I questioned, worriedly, "you seem," I paused, "distant."
She nodded her head-
-way too quickly."El, what did you see? Out in the woods? Somethings's scared you," I took her hand.
She swallowed and shook her head, "nothing."
"We made a pact, always tell the truth. Right now I can see you're lying to me."
"I'm not!" I could see tears building up behind her eyes and her hands began to violently shake.
I pulled her close to me and hugged her tightly as tears escaped her eyes and her pent up emotions burst out into sobs and tears, "shh," I cooed, "you don't have to tell me, just let it all out."
She cried harder hugging me tightly back as she wept into my (well Xaviers) hoodie. Well it's mine now.
I hated seeing her like this but what pondered on my mind was her reaction to Xavier: his presence; his name; just the idea of him.
What happened?
After a while she began to calm down and eventually fell asleep with her head in my lap. I smiled stroking her hair as she laid peacefully asleep.
After we left the dungeons, Eleanor and I walked towards the pack house to get her a room while Xavier went to tend with some 'business'. I could tell he was still mad at me and I don't blame him. Even though I was drunk I shouldn't have let that girl kiss me.
I felt awful.
Worst Mate Award goes to....
Me!
Eleanor snorted like a pig causing me to silently laugh.
When I was at my old pack I would frequently go to hers and stay over (mainly when my mother wasn't home) and I would always stay in her bed with her. She snorted countless times in her sleep. It felt comforting to be with her again.
