My lungs were aching, contracting, clenching as I ran faster. Twigs and stray brambles attacked me as my body tore through the bushes around me.

My legs were pounding consistently against the forest floor.

He was going to kill everyone.

'Run faster Alexis!'  Lilith screamed.

Tears were escaping my eyes as my legs pushed harder and harder against the tough soil.

I was the only one who knew what was about to happen.

And I couldn't let it.

My legs came to a crushing halt almost sending me flying as I stopped at the edge of the clearing where the forest ended.

Carnage and blood painted the land like a canvas, the grass no longer it's lavish green but now a deep crimson.

Flesh had been scattered everywhere.

The wolves were tearing each other apart.

In the centre of the clearing was my target. A huge wolf, a size no human could comprehend. It was the size of a grizzly bear, bigger when it stood on its hind legs.

This wolf looked like a blaze of fury, it's vermilion fur standing out the most.

But it wasn't stained from blood. It was just red, like a burning fire.

The incredible monster tore apart the wolves, scattering their body's around it like they were toys it was fed up of playing with.

It's mighty honed teeth protruded from its snapping jaws like a dozen angry razor blades.

The animals piercing black eyes shone in the observation of the moon as it continued to ravish the wolves, like they were nothing.

One wolf my eyes focused on was a larger wolf, much bigger than the other. But no where near the size of the red one.  It was big and black, it stood proudly amount a group and it lunged to attack.

No! Why was he here?

My heart pulled at my body and I knew what would happen if the wolf went closer.

My body was frozen in fear at the sight of this monster who stood momentarily on its hind legs snapping a wolf in half and swinging it away.

It's fearsome obsidian eyes glanced at the black wolf before finally settling on me.

And it finally clicked in my mind;

Lupus infernum.

"Are you excited?" I squealed.

His broad shoulders heaved up before slumping back down, "don't shrug at me mister! Are you?"

"It's just a tattoo," he shrugged once again.

"We should get matching ones," I wiggled my eyebrows.

He scoffed, "I'm not getting a bag of food tattooed on me."

Playfully slapping his arm, I replied, "how dare you! I was thinking more nude portraits."

He chuckled and winked at me, "for what I'm packing, you're gonna need a bigger body."

"You mean you're ginormous forehead."
