"If you were somebody's Master, would they call you Master Bates?"
Bates chest heaved like it was about to explode. He was wheezing profusely to the point where his eye sockets looked like they were straining to contain his eyeballs. His skin was pinched red like a tomato and his teeth were displayed every time he laughed.
"Alex you're killing me!" He screamed.
Tears were streaming out of my eyes as my brownie fell out of my hand and plopped onto the bean bag below.
"Master Bates!" I wheezed.
We were both crying.
My heart felt all tingly and my skin felt all stretchy. I missed this feeling.
"How have I never met you before?" He wiped a stray tear away from his eye as his laughter began to cease.
I giggled still recovering from my fit.
"Well, I haven't been here very long and I don't explore much so," I shrugged. My words felt as if they weren't coming out. These brownies really did a number on me.
"You need to go out more miss lazy pants. We need to get stoned all the time!" He really emphasised 'all'.
"I'm down!" I shouted as he raised his hand in the air and we high-fived.
"You're my new best friend!" Exclaimed Bates.
"Yes!" I fist bumped the air, "score one for me!"
My mind had been zoning out all night. At the moment I began to let my eyes wander around the room for the millionth time.
I was still amazed by the arcade games; the scattered assortment of bright bean bag chairs; the soft patterns of the coloured carpet; the cinema room connected to this room; the immense speakers latched onto the dark maroon walls. This entire room was a sanctuary.
I hadn't checked out all the tables but on my way in I noticed a pool table and one of them ones with the men attached to the poles, where they kick a football.
I never paid much attention to what most of them were called.
It was a huge room! Like mega huge! It was like the same size as my old house.
"Let's play air hockey."
"Oh my god, yes! Why didn't you tell me there was one in here?"
"I forgot," he laughed.
Chuckling, I tried to stand up.
"I'm stuck. This bean bag has sunk me. Help!" I groaned, still laughing.
He rolled off his bean bag and waddled until he was directly in front of me.
He offered me a smooth hand and gracefully, pointing out my own, I took it. Pulling me up, he groaned vehemently, "you're heavy ass is going to break my back!"
"Hey! Fuck you I'm not that heavy!"
"Pick yourself up, then come to me and say that," he chuckled as we made our way over to the table.
My legs felt like jelly as my body wobbled.
"How rude," I laughed, "now! Master Bates, are you ready to die?" I raised my eyebrow as I picked up a red pusher and released a quick breath upon it for good luck.
