Chapter 14: Little Cupid's Assistant.

Eugene stared at him with disbelief, was he talking about the night when Elsa was taken away from him and was sold to a beast? It was the first question that popped in his head. Of course he was, it was the day when Eugene saved Elsa. Then...
What did he mean by he couldn't save his sister?
Did the same thing happened with his sister as well?
Was his sister sold to a bastard as well?
And he couldn't make it on time and she was killed?
Many questions were running inside his head. The insecurities that Eugene felt years ago were coming back, Jack was a brother too, Eugene could feel his pain and regret in his voice. All the anger and uneasiness that he felt towards Jack was vanished away in the thin and suffocating air.
Jack's words clawed on his heart, the pain in his voice was unbearable. Eugene did not wait for him to say more, he did not want him to say more. Jack's phone buzzed in his white coat's pocket, he took it out and checked the message. He stood up from the grass.
"I have to go." Jack quickly walked back inside and into the MRI room. Where his assistant doctor was examining a report, it was Bethany lying on the MRI bed.
"Doctor, you should take a look at this." Penny aka his assistant doctor spoke pointing towards the screen that was showing Bethany's heart images. Jack knitted his eyebrows together as he stared at the screen, confirming if what he was seeing was just a hallucination or...
"The septum between the two Chambers is thick, walls of the pumping chamber are also stiff..." She stated looking at her heart MRI. Jack nodded his head as he chewed on his bottom lip and glanced at the smiling little girl that was waving at him as she sat up, Jack gave her a forced little smile and gave her a small wave.
"Obstructive Hypotrophic cardiomyopathy." Jack murmured looking back at the screen intently.
"She's on her last stages." Penny added as she took a glance at the little girl, Jack once again nodded his head. As his mind went to the books he studied, to the pages that were photographed in his mind.
"Any treatment you can think of, doctor?" She asked looking at him with her green eyes, shoving her hands in her white coat's pockets. Jack brushed his hand in his silvery hair, messing them more.
"Septal myectomy or heart transplant." Jack said looking in her eyes that were as green as forest and her jet black hair tied into a pony tail.
"Bethany's too young," Penny told her point of view, Bethany came out of the room followed by Dr Ian who was holding her small finger with a smile on his face.
"Septal myectomy is suitable for her." He spoke looking at Bethany who was making her way towards him, she was gawking at Jack and stood in front of him. She gestured Jack to move closer to him with her tiny, chubby hand, he looked at her confused but then bent down over his knee as a smile made it's way on his thin lips. Penny and Ian snickered looking at them and for the first time Jack didn't glare at them laughing.
"Did he really smile at her?" Penny whispered in Ian's ear with disbelief in her voice and Ian just nodded his head.
"Why do you have white haiw? Arw you weally this old?" She whispered in his ear, like she was telling a secret and touched his hair. Jack chuckled and gently patted her soft, chubby cheek and looked in her chocolate brown eyes. He yearned to look in those chocolate brown eyes for years and braid those chestnut hair.
