Chapter 35: Together.

❄️

She was sitting on the couch with Facebook's head in her lap, he had closed his eyes. Her one hand was stroking it's ginger fur but her eyes were concentrated on the diary placed on the arm of the couch, her free hand was scribbling something on one of it's pages with a pencile.

While Jack was sitting on a beanbag with his phone in his hands, his eyes drifted towards her from time to time seeing what she was doing and how much indulged she looked into whatever she was writing.

Jack's foot continued to bounce in anticipation as he searched on Google, 'where to take your girlfriend on a first date?'

Many stupid answers came in front of him like;

-Go to a flea market. Try on used clothes, buy matching swords, or do any number of creative, surprising things here.

-Go to an arcade.

-Play mini golf.

-Attend a comedy open-mic.

-Watch a movie matinee.

-Have a three-course dinner… at different places.

-Take a cooking class.

-Go to a poetry reading.

He had taken many girls out on dates, on dinners and fancy places but Elsa wasn't the fancy dinner type. Going to a flea market and trying out used clothes and stuff like that was way too weird and childish, but also Jack couldn't even imagine himself doing stupid and teenage things like that.

Go to an arcade? They weren't kids anymore. Play mini golf? Boring! Attend a comedy open mic? Who does that now? Then he remembered Elsa's lame jokes and shivered so that was also a no no no! Watch a movie matinee? Boring! Three course dinner at different places? Elsa wasn't the fancy dinner date type! Take a cooking class together? No one wanted a building on fire. Jack still remembered it like it was yesterday when Elsa wanted to cook waffles for them. How she somehow managed to make a fire out of it, there were fire alarms going off, they emptied the whole building and smoke was everywhere. That day was a total disaster. Go to a poetry reading? BORING!

Mother Google wasn't being helpful at all. So there was only one option left now... Jack's eyes snapped towards her diary which was securely held in her hands and she didn't plan on letting him read it. She was continuously smiling as she wrote something on it and pasted pictures.

Jack mentally made a list of a few things she wrote in her diary...

-I wish to run after butterflies and hold them in my palm.

Running after butterflies? Where was he going to find butterflies? Should he take her to a butterfly museum? There would be many butterflies but dead ones, Elsa would probably faint looking at them dead. So that was off the list.

-I wish to see the under water world and see colorful fishes swimming around me.

That was possible. He could take her to the best place for scuba diving! Like Cuba. He could take her to Cuba. But there was one teeny tiny problem. They were in Brooklyn which was in south of America and then there was Cuba which was all across in North of America. Booking and everything could take time. Then there were Elsa's weekly sessions in the hospital.

-I wish to go skiing one day.

It was the month of May so skiing was also off the list.

-I wish to do bungee jumping!!

Bungee jumping could be possible. Many places for bungee jumping flooded in his mind, so it was on the list.

- I wish to love and to be loved back, I wish to have a husband and have children like any other couple... I wish to fall in love.
