Belle's POV
After riding my every day roller coaster, I again hurriedly made my way inside the diner. I crossed my fingers, hoping Greg the monster would not be waiting to devour the last bits of my tired self. Atleast I had succeeded in making it to Friday. I planned on getting some rest for the rest of the weekend. After walking in and not catching a glimpse of my boss, I didn't waste time, immediately I went to the staff department and changed into my work gear. Maggie was serving a customer at the far end of the diner so I patiently waited for her as I caught my breath.
"Somebody seems to be set out on being served by you," she stated, her face decorated with a very teasing smile.
"Hello to you too Maggie and who might that be," I smiled back as she reached me. Maggie made my days at the diner so much more bearable with her jolly self and I was grateful for that.
"The woman at the far end, she's been here for at least thirty minutes and she didn't order anything. Said she'll only order when you come."
I turned to see this mysterious weird woman she was talking about. My eyes fell on her and my heart froze only to start beating extremely fast right after.
"It's the woman I embarrassed myself infront of a few days ago," I said matter-of-factly, blinking stupidly.
"Uhm yeah, so what?"
"Are you serious she wants me to take her order?"
"Why would I lie about it," Maggie snickered, pushing me forward towards the woman's direction. I took excruciatingly small and slow steps to her. The more I got nearer to her table, the more I felt like I was going to pass out because of anxiety. I didn't even understand what I was anxious about.
"Jaycey," she greeted me with a grin.
"Hey uhh Miss ---," I realised she knew my name but I wasn't aware of hers.
"What can I get for you today," I asked, feeling my throat dry up. I sounded like I was being strangled.
"I'm Belle. I'll like the same thing I ordered a few days back."
"I'm sorry Miss --- "
"Belle, just call me Belle," she cut in, smiling.
"Well Belle, I don't quite remember what you ordered last time. See, there's a lot of --- "
"Chicken fried steak."
"Excuse me?" my brows knitted together and I didn't get why she seemed amused when I was clearly confused.
"I'll have chicken fried steak please."
I murmured an okay, then carefully without wanting to make a fool out of myself, headed back to the diner counter. I waited for her order to arrive. As I did, my eyes wandered around the place. Today there were no more than fifteen people so it wasn't a busy morning. I landed my eyes onto the mysterious woman, Belle. Her gaze was facing outside, she looked so handsome. I was still staring at her when she turned and met my eyes. It's like she always sensed that I was looking at her. We both smiled, more like blushed on my part. I didn't know why I was acting how I was acting but I knew without a doubt that this stranger that called me by my name, had a breathtakingly charming smile and had me blush my cheeks off was quite intriguing and I kind of liked how she made me weak at the knees with just a small glance.
"Jaycey," I jumped at the mention of my name. Maggie curiously looked at me, "I've been calling you."
"I'm sorry," I replied, grabbing hold of Belle's order. Hurriedly, I went to hand her her food. She awarded me with a heartfelt smile as I did so.
