Jaycey's POV

"Mmm, uhhh, fuck," I cussed underneath my breath, shifting and feeling a thunderbolt of pain burning in my head. I fluttered my eyes open, at first I couldn't make out where I was or what was going on. I heard voices in the background, something like, "I think she's waking up", "Shhh, you don't wanna make her head hurt more 'cause of your squirky voice you dork." After my eyes could fully visualise what was happening I saw a girl and a boy. The girl was sitting on a chair just a few feet from where I was laying and the boy was standing by the door.

"Where am I?" I asked trying to get up but it felt like I had something heavy put ontop of my body and my head throbbed with pain. The girl quickly moved with her chair to sit beside me. I looked around and saw that I was ontop of someone's bed, in someone's bedroom.

"I think I should leave," the boy said opening the door and walking out right after without waiting for a response.

"Where am I?" I asked again looking at the girl besides me.

"You at my place," she took some tablets that were placed on the nightstand, "Open ya' mouth."

"What are those?"

"I ain't gon' kill ya'," she smiled, "There are tablets for ya' headache. If ya' take 'em you be back on ya' feet in no time."

I opened my mouth and she gave me two then helped me down them with some water.

"Name's Becca," she grinned, "You are?"

"I'm Jaycey."

"You beautiful Jaycey."

I looked at her. My tongue seemed to be automatically stuck. She'd just said I'm beautiful but I didn't want to overthink it. My head wasn't in a good space so I told myself to just play it cool.

"And so are you," I replied. It wasn't a lie, she really was beautiful, "I like your eyes, there are --- jade."

She laughed, "What a way to describe 'em."

"Don't blame me, I can't think straight."

I swear I saw a blush creeping up on her cheeks. I couldn't blame her though, the way her eyes fell on me kind of made my cheeks turn red too.

"Ya' have to gimme a number that I should call, ya' family could be lookin' for ya'."

"I don't want to go yet."

Her jade eyes looked at me with so much concern, I managed to try and smile.

"I'm safe with you right?" I asked.

"As safe as it gets. Now get ya'self some sleep. I'm sure by the time you wake up you be feelin' so much better."

She stood up and gently placed a kiss on my forehead. I watched her make her way to the door and before she went out she turned and smiled again.

"So I didn't die," I thought to myself as I felt like I was starting to drift off to sleep. Part of me regretted that I survived and another part was grateful and thought that killing myself was the stupidest thing I had ever attempted to do. I closed my eyes and let sleep take over. Hoping to wake up feeling better than I felt.

I woke up to a warm body pressed against mine. I lay motionless, not attempting to move because I might wake the sleeping person whom by the looks of it seemed like Becca. The scent of her skin was earthy and sweet, like fresh picked strawberries in a sun-warmed field. Her hand was placed loosely on my waist, her head on the crook of my neck which caused her calm breaths to cause chills to course throughout my body. She was spooning me in a way that was too sexual for my little heart to handle. I had just got heartbroken and now I was allowing my heart to beat so fast because of Becca, someone I met less than a day ago.
