The A girl followed Jordan out the door, and the two slipped away into the night. They were deep into the forest before I could stop them, let alone catch up to them. It was just a forest, why did it creep me out so bad? Maybe because the unknown is FREAKY? But here's the thing, it's not unknown. I've been there before--twice! Well, at least they'll come back.---they have to. An hour has past, and they're still not back yet. where could they be? In the woods, duh. But why are they not back yet? I begin to worry. Horrible, bloody images of them being malled by a bear, or attacked by a cougar flash in my brain. I can imagine them trying to scream, but the bear or cougar kills them before anyone can hear them. Why should I think such a thing? Perhaps they just got lost in the dark. But they brought their flashlights. Maybe the batteries went dead? I don't know what to think, I'm just fretting up a storm.
"Do you think they'll be back soon?" I ask in a nervous voice.
"I don't know, maybe. Of course they will be!" Candy says. Candy was actually born Candace Amelia Rodgers, but we all call her Candy, partly because she's so sweet! Her voice had a hint of doubt in it. She walked over to the window, and opened it.
"I'm cracking this open, so we can hear the girls when they come back." Candy said, opening the tiny cabin window. A cool night breeze rushed in. After a while, we heard something. It was a horrible, terrifying, blood-curdling scream, and it was coming from the woods.
