The old woman was silent for a couple minutes. Then, she spoke again.

"The locals here in the 1940's said that there's something in these woods. They have the stories to prove it, but only if they went in the daylight, and had people close by. Some were skeptical about it. It's not a legend like Big Foot, or Nessie, that people have claimed to see, and the existence remains a mystery; people have actually gone missing in these woods, and NEVER returned. People have smelled rot, and seen figures. People have experienced things. I'm one of those people. Whatever it is has been lurking around near my house. I live alone, and if I leave, I will not be safe. I've stayed inside for three years straight. Sometimes I'll hear bumps outside my front door, and heavy breathing."

I chill went up my spine. We experienced the same exact things!

"Why do you have salt sprinkled around your house?" Candy asked.

"I figured that it would keep the creature away. Salt has been used as a repellent for things in many legends. Vampires, Zombies, ect."

"So you think that vampires and zombies are killing people?" Rita asked, as if to say, really? You can't be serious.

"Anything is possible, but I don't want to scare a bunch of young children like you. Your minds are over active, and I mustn't damage them, or get them worked up." The old woman said. It's kind of, okay it's just flat out annoying when people treat teenagers like babies, but this chick is like eighty, so I wouldn't be too irritated. Of course she thinks we're babies. She probably thinks fifty year olds are babies, too.
