The rest of the day went by slowly until the period before lunch came when the dyed hair kid was in my class. He was running his hands through his hair and was looking really anxious. I looked at the board and it read "sit anywhere you want" so I sat by the kid.

"Hey, I know you're new here cause you're in my science class and I just wanted to make sure you're okay, I'm Ashton by the way but people call me Ash." I talked really fast cause I didn't want him to think I was weird.

"I'm Michael," he said in his Australian accent, looking relieved.

"Well Michael, you have your first American friend," I said smiling.

"I'm glad it's you cause you're in two of my classes so I need you," he said smiling cheekily.

"Of course and I don't like people all that much but your something else Michael," I said, nudging his shoulder.

He just smiled and got his stuff out ready for class to start. I did the same as this is my best class; drawing and painting. I've always taken an art class in high school because I need it to calm my anxiety and because I'm pretty good at it so I enjoy drawing. I've never had a friend in Art class unless you count the teacher, Mr. Benham. So I'm pretty excited.

The class goes by pretty fast and Mr. B explains our first project that will take up the first semester of school. It's a graphite drawing project portraying one word of your choice. I already knew what I was doing. Michael, on the other hand, didn't.

"Hey, Michael, do you guys have anyone to sit with at lunch?" I asked as he was attempting to brainstorm ideas.

"Nope, no idea. Why?" he asked looking me in the eyes.

"Cause I don't either, my boyfriend has a different lunch than me this year and all of you seem really cool and we all need some friends. You guys are funny, except I don't know anything about the kid sitting next to me in Chem." I babbled.

"Haha yeah that's Calum he doesn't talk, he hasn't in years." he said scratching the back of his neck, "But he's a nice kid. Also, sorry about your boyfriend. We can all sit together, you're a cool dude." he said offering me a fist bump.

Obviously, I bumped him back. After class ended we both grabbed our bags and headed to the cafeteria. We saw Luke in the hallway on the way there. Calum was already at a table.

"Hey," I said to Calum, giving him a smile. He gave me a half-smile back. Even just that made my heart go wild, but it shouldn't.
Lunch went by with a lot of jokes from Luke and Michael and silent laughs from Calum and loud ones from me.

Next class, Calculus went fast, so I was on my way to my last bell which was English, I had it with my boyfriend.

I walked in and saw Calum reading a small book in the back of the class. I sat next to him with no hesitation. I nudged his shoulder and he looked up in surprise and smiled at me.

"Glad you found your way around this giant school. I still get lost sometimes." I joked, looking around the room looking at who's in the class.

Calum blew air out his nose as a laugh and continued reading.

"So, whatcha reading?" I asked, trying to make conversation.

Calum showed me the book cover and it was Looking for Alaska by John Green.

"Oh my god, I love that book!" I adore John Green.

Calum gave me a really?! look and I nodded my head a lot.

"It's one of my favorites. Along with The Shining by Stephen King." I told him trying to read his face for an answer.

All I got was an 'oh cool' look. I think.

"Alright class, let's get started. I am your English teacher Mrs. Johns. Okay?" she explained with a sweet smile.

The rest of the class was fine. I could see Justin staring at me with anger all class. I think Calum saw it too cause he took one look at Justin and he stopped staring. It was all okay in the end.

I left the class with a goodbye to Calum and Mrs. Johns. They both smiled and waved.

I walked out the class and immediately got pulled by my forearm to the side.

"What the fuck?!" Justin yelled at me.

"I should be the one saying that, why are you holding my arm so tight? Justin you're hurting me." I tried to get his hand off my arm but he wouldn't budge.

"Why the hell were you flirting with the mute new kid? I saw the way you were looking at him and you sat with him instead of me." Justin sneered.

"I wasn't flirting with him, he's in two of my classes, we're friends. Justin let me go. I didn't do anything, why are you acting like this?" I asked quietly, trying not to cause a scene.

He finally let me go, "Just stay away from him okay? I'll see you tonight, the party starts at 7." he looked at me like he wanted to kill me.

I have no idea why he was acting like this, he's never been jealous before, never. I looked at the part of my arm where he grabbed me and there was already a bruise forming. I composed myself and walked away in the opposite direction of Justin.

I caught a glimpse of lilac hair in the hallway and caught up to him.

"Hey, Michael. Wanna walk together?"

"Hey Ash, yeah lets," he told me smiling.

We walked to our cars. His was a black jeep. I didn't see any of his friends, I guess they can all drive. I wonder if they all live together or if they just moved here together.

"Hey, do you wanna hang out later? Us and the guys?" he asked out of nowhere as he fixes his lilac hair in the reflection of his car window.

"I actually can't tonight, my mom and I do a back to school dinner thing but we should definitely hang out soon. Here's my number, just text me." I said taking his phone and opening contacts. I put Ash with a little crazy-eyed emoji.

"Cool see you later!" he said waving as he got into his car.

"Text me, see you later Mikey!" I placed the new nickname on the kid as I walked back to my car that we passed. I got in not waiting for Ellie cause she had lacrosse practice after school. I started playing my music really loud, as always, and pulled out of the school.

I got home and the rest of the night went fast. Mom and I had a quiet dinner like usual, I did homework, showered and went to bed. The rest of the week went like that. I had chemistry with the guys and we started to get closer. Lunch was amazing, seeing the other guys make Calum laugh, just a silent laugh. His smile was just amazing, it made my heart melt in ways it shouldn't. Justin still glares at me from across the classroom but he hasn't done anything else to me. Then finally Friday came. Party day.

Once I got home I took my bag upstairs and put it in my room. I set up everything the way I liked it and then my phone went off. I thought it was Michael but it was someone else.

"Hey, it's luke, what's your address and what time is the party?"

"Hey dude, my address is 2948 chesnut and it's at 7 but you can come earlier if you want, it's just me right now lol" I texted back.

"Cool, we'll be there in 2 hours, thanks for the invite."

"See you then and np." I put down my phone and I attempted to start my homework but I decided against it. I picked up my phone again and just went through my social media until I heard my doorbell ring.

I ran downstairs to see the 4 aussie lads on my doorstep.
