Chapter 6

I needed to talk to someone but it was 8 o'clock at night but then again I really need someone right now. I picked up my phone from the counter and called Luke.

After a couple rings he answered, "Hey Ashton! What's up, how're you feeling?" he asked kindly.

"I feel like shit. Everyone is happier without me." I sobbed into the phone as I sat on my kitchen floor.

"Ashton, that is not true. We wouldn't be so excited to live here if you didn't welcome us with open arms." Luke told me through the phone, he sounded like he was shuffling something around.

"I'm glad I could do that but Justin is happier without me." I continued crying to him.

"You don't need that dirtbag." he sighed.

"But I thought he needed me," I composed myself, "Can I come over?" finally getting to the point.

"Yeah, I'll text you the address. We can talk more when you're here. I want to hug you." I could hear the smile in his voice.

"Thank you Luke." I hung up and grabbed my keys.

I once again turned on my car and waited for Luke's text. I pulled out of the driveway knowing exactly where they live now. I used to cat sit for the old lady who lived there, I forgot her son wanted to put her in a retirement home. About 3 minutes later I pulled into their driveway and wanted to cry again. I grabbed my phone and keys and walked to their doorstep.

I knocked three times before the door opened and I was immediately pulled into a warm hug that pulled me off my feet and dragged me into the house. I heard the door shut behind me and I fell into the hug more, letting my head rest on his chest.

"Ash, it's gonna be okay." He mumbled into my hair.

I didn't say anything, I just started sobbing again. That's all I wanted to hear.

"Luke. Who's here?" I heard Michael come into the hallway we were in, "Oh, Ashton. Luke let him go, we can talk on the couch."

"Fine." he squeezed me then let me go slowly, keeping an arm around my shoulders. He guided me to the couch Michael was talking about.

Tears still streaming down my face, I wasn't paying attention to anything but the memories of Justin.

"Why...why'd he have to cheat." I whispered to them.

"Cause he's a pig, he's a horrible person for hurting you." Michael told me. I felt a dip in the couch next to me so I assumed it was Michael. I kept staring at my hands and let the tears fall. Luke's arm left my shoulder and I could feel him get off the couch. Then a different weight sat next to me. I looked up blurry eyed from tears and saw Calum looking at me. More and more tears fell and Calum pulled me into him, putting an arm around my shoulder. I laid my head on his shoulder but felt even more comforted than I did with Luke. I stopped sobbing but slow silent tears were falling. His arm rubbed my back in an attempt to comfort me, it was working.

"Why did I date him?" I asked no one.

"I read an amazing book called 'The Perks of Being A Wallflower' and there's a quote in it that says, 'We accept the love we think we deserve.'" Luke said from across the room.

I just laughed and leaned into Calum more. The tears stopped but I wanted to cry.

A glass of water was put in front of my face, "Stay hydrated." Michael said quietly.

"Thank you." I attempted my best smile and took the glass. I drank it all and handed it back to him. He smiled back and put it somewhere, I wasn't really paying attention.

Calums hand was still rubbing my back, I leaned back into him and closed my eyes. It was only about 9 o'clock but I've only slept 2 hours in the past 36. I paid attention to the shapes he was making and attempted to get closer to him. I think he noticed this because with his other hand he pulled me onto his lap but I wasn't comfortable so I straddled him and kept my head on his shoulder. He continued drawing shapes on my back. I thought I heard the other two leave but I couldn't tell. Before I knew it I was asleep in Calum Hood's arms.

Kind of a filler i'm sorry but the next one is over 2000 words sooooo be happy.
