Chapter 6

Jellal POV

Flashback to last night

After a long afternoon of working on decorating the gym, Erza and I decided to call it a day and go home. Time went by fast, mostly because bothering her was so much fun.

We walked out of the school, and the sky was pitch black, covered with twinkling stars. It was quite beautiful. I always had a thing for space and the stars. I looked over at Erza who seemed to be enjoying the night sky as well. I smiled. She may be a suck up, but she sure is adorable when she's calm.

Erza then started to walk away from me, down the sidewalk. I stopped her with my hand.

" Where are you going? Don't you have a car?" I questioned.

" Oh I always walk home from school, and usually it's never this late, but I'll be fine." She started walking again and I stood in front of her, blocking her path. She narrowed her eyes at me.

" Well, sweetheart, there is no way I'm letting you walk all by yourself in the dark, when there's a person right here to walk with you." I gave her a grin showing my teeth. " I mean what kind of gentleman would I be?" She scoffed and shoved past me.

" You're no gentleman, your one of those people who would scare girls in the dark or kidnap them with the intent to rape." She retorted.

" How rude, Scarlet. I can't believe you would think of me like that." She stuck her tongue out at me. " Well that's very unlady like for a student president, Miss Scarlet. You're lucky I'm not making you put that tongue to good use." I smirked at her and I could see her blush even in the dark. Heehee, got her. She didn't respond so I took my chance to grab her arm and pull her down the sidewalk. Surprisingly she didn't hit me or struggle. She just gave me a whine of protest, but walked with me anyway.

We were walking for 10 minutes, and she led most of the way. Soon we were at her house. I wasn't even paying attention to the direction we were going, we were just there. Erza then looked up at me with a cute pout on her face. I swear that face is going to kill me.

" Um..uh.. Thank you for walking me home." She stuttered nervously, avoiding my gaze. Then she hurried into her house, without another word. Hehe I must make her nervous. I smirked. Suddenly my grin fell as I realized I left my car in the school parking lot and I had walked around somewhere where I had not recognized. Maybe I shouldve offered a ride in my car. I smacked my forehead. Damn. Should I ask Erza for directions or a place to stay? Nah she'll think I want to rape her. I shoved my hands in my pockets, annoyed and began to wander the area, searching for any familiar addresses or landmarks. After roaming around for what seemed like hours, I finally found my house. I sighed in relief. I pulled my keys from my pocket and entered my house after unlocking the door. I rushed up stairs to my room, threw my backpack to the side and collapsed on my bed. I looked down to the floor and realized that Erza's book fell out of the bag. Getting up and yawning in exhaustion, I picked up the book. I decided that I was too tired to read right now, so I placed it on the table and fell back on my bed. As soon as I felt my comfy, warm bed underneath me, I closed my eyes with a satisfied smile and then sleep completely took me over.

Flash back end

Erza POV

I woke up in the morning, right in time for me to head off to school. Grumbling at the thought I got up out of bed while running my fingers through my silky hair. As I was getting ready, I couldn't stop thinking about Jellal. I can't believe I let that idiot walk me home. Though I am surprised he didn't do anything to me. I shook away the thought, for I have more important things to think about, like how good my strawberry cake will taste when I get downstairs. My stomach rumbled in agreement and I hurried down the stairs where my yummy cake was waiting.
