Ummmm, Star Wars X Newsies Crossover in honor of May 4th. May the Fourth Be With You!!! It doesn't fit anywhere into the Star Wars storyline OR the other oneshots in this book. Also, don't look for any super close resemblances to characters in Star Wars cause I didn't plan those but if you notice any....kudos to you!! Also, I don't own Star Wars. Please also realize that I am doing something that hasn't officially happened in Star Wars (that I know of) soooooo....don't like stress about the context or anything because it's just gonna be random Newsies as Jedi and others as Rebels. Also, droids are in because....droids!!! And Yoda may or may not make an appearance.
"Be back in a bit!" Les Jacobs calls out as he races through the Rebel base clad in one of the boys' bright orange flight suits that's two sizes too big for him. Despite what his brother says, Les really wants to be a pilot. His dream is to fly an X-Wing and blow up something big....like a Death Star.
Except that only works when said brother doesn't feel through the Force that Les is leaving. Les isn't Force sensitive either so it makes no sense that his older brother can track him.
"Master Les! Where are you going?" The prim and proper voice of a certain golden protocol droid rings out through the Rebel base.
"Out," Les replies, continuing towards one of the X-Wings.
"Master Davey would most certainly not approve . Why, I'm sure his Jedi powers will stop you right in your tracks," the droid continues. Les groans.
"Would ya please get out of here, 3P0? I'm trying to do something kinda important here," he whines. The droid, C3P0, waves his golden arms in distress.
"Master Davey would never....." 3P0 starts again but Les shushes him.
"Master Davey doesn't approve of a lot of things," he says, "But I'm doing it anyways."
Meanwhile, across from the base, Jack Kelly, leader of the entire aeronautics side of the Rebellion, observes the discussion between the golden droid and the human boy.
"I've got a bad feeling about this," he mutters.
"I can understand why but I think it'll be okay," Katherine, head commander and diplomat for the Rebellion reassures, "Besides, you're never one to worry."
"I know. I really don't want to be on the sorry end of a lightsaber," Jack replies as he puts an arm around his fiance. The couple watches the younger Jacobs sibling climb up a ladder with the bumbling golden protocol droid nervously chattering away to him while he climbs. The young boy climbs into the cockpit as R2D2, an astromech droid, sits in the cubbyhole behind him. The hangar doors open and Les starts up the X-Wing.
"Go get em, Kid!!" Racetrack Higgins, a Force sensitive pilot and commander of the Red Squadron shouts. Les pilots the X-Wing out of the Rebel base, trying not to bounce it off of anything. Suddenly, running footsteps sound from a different part of the Rebel Base.
"Get him back here!" Davey Jacobs cries as he hurries out into the middle of the Rebel base in blue and dark brown Jedi robes. He extends his hand and tries to pull the X-Wing back towards the base. The X-Wing shudders for a moment, struggling to move forward. Race uses the force and pushes the button to shut the hangar door. Fortunately for Davey, Race doesn't really know how to do much else with the Force except play pranks on people. Davey sighs. Master Yoda would not be happy with his latest use of the Force.
"Master Davey! I tried! I'm sorry I couldn't stop him!" C3P0 cries as he walks over to Davey. Davey starts to walk away from the fretful golden droid.
"It's alright," Davey replies to the overly apologetic droid as he turns to Jack, "I'm going to work on my lightsaber skills."
Katherine's pretty sure she hears an audible gulp of fear come from Jack.
