The secret elevator opened in Swarnima's home and all of them stepped out. Abhedya sat on the sofa with a grumpy face.
Arya sat next to him and asked him, "Why were you startled? I came to know about Swarnima 4 years back and went to meet her at Windsor. When she came here, I meet her at least once in three months. You see, we are so busy but we have this WhatsApp group and we stay connected. Oh!! You are still not a part of it, right? Wait I will add you... annndddd done ✅. So you are also part of 'our' group now."
Swarnima and Maan had a non-verbal communication. They knew a volcano will erupt soon. Arya was on purpose saying everything in a teasing tone.
Maan explained, "Actually Arya overheard papa and me when we were talking about Nim and..."
"It's okay Maan, I don't need any explanations. I know where I stand. You all knew everything about each other and were happy in your little 'group'. Cool! I won't bother you. It was a pleasure meeting you all again." Abhedya got up and started to leave.
"Abhey, chill man! It's no big deal! When you come to know doesn't matter at least you know and we all are together now. All of us just like before." Arya tried to pacify Abhedya who was a little angry.
"WHAT IS LIKE BEFORE? NOTHING ARYA!! We all have changed. You, me and this girl here... 'SWARNIMA' is not our Nim... She is some other girl altogether. I understand her circumstances were different but how can a person change so much? She was in front of my eyes for THREE GOD DAMN years and she kept quiet?
She wouldn't have said anything now too if I would not have caught her red-handed. You tell me Maan, the Nim you knew... we all knew, she would have stayed away from me? Would she have ignored me? NO!! She would have come running to me... So, nothing is like before and nothing will ever be." Abhedya said the last part looking deep into Swarnima's eyes as if conveying to her what he said, he meant."Abhey, listen to me brother. Nim has to follow rules and she cannot go against them. Still, she was given a choice that if you recognise her, she would not hide her identity." Maan tried to cool Abhedya.
"Oh! Please Maan!! I have had this discussion with 'this girl' here. It was the most stupid thing I ever heard. You tell me, I was told that... her family and she were caught in a fire and they all.. they all.." after taking a deep breath Abhedya continued, "they all were dead. If you were in my place will you believe people returned from dead? No!! It's easy to say 'if Abhey recognises you, you may not hide your identity', it's absurd, illogical and baseless. You knew everything so you will find reasons and logics. Leave it Maan! I am happy to be alone."
"Why are you saying 'this girl' 'girl', she has a name Abhey. You cannot just treat her like that." Arya came to Swarnima's defence not liking Abhedya's behaviour towards her.
"If it offends her she should speak not you Arya. And stay out of it, I am warning you. I know you pretty well, you are on purpose trying to be over-friendly with her, be cosy with her, flirt with her. But you know what, I DO NOT GIVE A FUCK! Because I have moved on in my life and your stupid childish tricks don't bother me anymore.
You want to become her best friend, boyfriend, her knight in shining armour I DO NOT CARE!. You get that Arya." Abhey was angry and shouted at top of his voice.Maan put his arm around Swarnima's shoulder and requested, "Abhey, don't shout. We can speak in a civilised manner. The walls may be soundproof but we can hear each other very well. Besides shouting affects Nim's health."
Abhedya went and pulled Swarnima from her elbow and questioned, "You don't have a voice of yours or what? Or the princess only has her hired personal assistants talk on her behalf?" Abhedya looked straight into Swarnima's eyes and his fingers were digging deep in her elbow.
