Abhedya's tears kept rolling down his handsome face and Swarnima's heartbeats kept dropping.
Maan came and jerked Abhedya. "What's wrong with you Abhey? Get a grip on yourself. Brother, it's now or never.
On one hand, you have your regular life. College-home-friends-party-work-repeat.
On the other hand, you have the life of King.
Some people look up to you. Be their anchor. Life gives you one chance to make the most of it. You are lucky you are getting a chance to add the word 'extra' to your ordinary life.""Why don't you claim the throne then Maan. Mumma is also a princess so that makes you a contender as well." Arya questioned Maan.
Maan gulped his saliva and Pri wiped her tears. "He would have been the perfect king Arya, only if he was not born out of wedlock. The rules permit only 'legitimate' heirs and Maan is our 'love-child', our pride. The rules that were set centuries ago have not been changed. We need to change them. So, that no Maan is deprived of his rights anymore." Pri put her hand on Maan's head with love.
Maan kissed his mother's hand and said, "You know Mumma I don't want the throne just the best for the state and I will do that without the crown. Besides, I know if Swadesh Mamu chose Abhedya as the king, he must have seen those attributes in him. I believe in him and my brother."
"Kunwar sa, it's time to go." Abhedya turned to the source of the voice. He was in a daze but Swarnima's voice brought him out of his varying thoughts. He followed Maan who escorted them to the CCTV room where Tara was keeping an eye.
Eklavya was narrating the story of swapped identities to the council. He glorified and praised the Queen. Swarnima was looking at the screen though she had no clue what she was watching.
Abhedya was only looking at Swarnima. Intently and intensely. Tara could sense the tension in the room but nothing that could be said or done flashed on in her mind to ease the tension."It's time to go," Tara said but no response. "Nim, Abhey, it's time to go." She repeated.
Swarnima gained her senses. "Kunwar sa, please rise and it's time to shine." Those words were a clue enough for Abhedya as to what, Swarnima expected.
The door of a room where the council and the protector were sitting, watching and analysing the proofs presented by Randeep and Rudra, opened. A focus light fell on the entrants and the governing body of Swarnbhoomi made way for it's new PROTECTOR AND HEIR TO THE THRONE.
Swarnima and Abhedya entered the room with a perfect gait, poise and aura. Rudra was proud to see them. Probably, they were born to rule but he never realised the value of his title and it's worth. He wanted his son to rectify those errors."Ladies and Gentlemen please rise before our future king ABHEDYA RAJVANSHI."
Eklavya's announcement made everyone stand and except for Rudra everyone bow before Abhedya. He was shocked to see his phuphu and his principal bow before him along with others.
Abhedya felt nervous and scared. He is just Twenty one knows nothing about governance how will he rule? To top it all, the love of his life just broke his heart into countless pieces.Abhedya was directed to sit at the head of the table, Rudra sat on his right and Randeep on his left. The remaining members took remaining seats. Swarnima was standing next to him.
"Kunwar sa, welcome to governing council.
