Abhedya surely had lots going on in his mind. Was it the way Swarnima looked that was driving him crazy or was it the way she shut Vayu's mouth and defended Abhedya like a tigress or was the 'city of love' that was adding a new zing to their relation?
Survang gave the camera to Vayu and said, "I want a picture with Nim too."
Abhedya was standing with his hand around her shoulder and Survang waited for few seconds then repeated, "Umm.. I wanted a picture with Nim."In a very low tone Abhedya cleared out to Survang, "If she is in the frame, I am there too."
Survang's lips twitched upwards and he quietly stood next to them. A couple of selfies followed before they bid adieu to the beautiful water falls and stopped at a restaurant. Everyone ordered their food but Survang took out a tiffin again and gave it to Swarnima."Wow! Survang you are taking so much care of Swarnima. How are you two related?" Vayu was intrigued seeing their bond.
"Nim is special and precious. She deserves nothing but the best. This is the least I can do for her. We don't have any relation now, but in future we will. For sure." Survang was determined with what he sought his future to be.
"As in, are you two planning to get engaged?" Vayu was a curious kid but hearing his question, Abhedya choked on his food and coughed like a little child. Swarnima patted his back and gave him water to drink.
"Vayu, we can never be engaged. She is engaged to someone already." Survang was playing with words increasing Abhedya's coughing while Swarnima kept patting his back.
"She is engaged? Who is the lucky man?" It was Mayur who questioned this time.
"Haha! Relax guys. She is engaged to her goals. She has set a few goals and will only focus on them. No diversions and distractions of any kind have space for them in her life." Survang gave a small candy to Abhedya to subside his coughing.
They sat in the car and headed to the hostel where the host college held a cultural programme for guest colleges. They thanked Survang for the fantastic day.
A girl from the organising committee told Abhedya that they had arranged a separate room for him since many colleges had left.
Vayu and Mayur whispered 'as if he didn't have one it till now.'
Abhedya glared at them and shifted to a room at the end of the corridor but adjoining to Swarnima's room. After shifting his room, they went to the garden where the cultural programme was being held. All four of them sat on chairs and greeted the teachers. They were given their score sheet which marked them first in that day's competition as well.
A group of girls and boys came on stage and danced on some songs. Followed by some singing and short skit.
It was an entertaining programme and a totally new and fun experience for Swarnima. She was happy. But even more happy was Mayur who was busy chatting with a girl from Bangalore college . Vayu elbowed Abhedya to witness the scene and Abhedya turned Swarnima's face who smiled seeing Mayur. There were definitely some sparks there.Dinner along the bon fire was arranged. Swarnima was sitting next to the fire and her face shined bright. The reflection of fire highlighted her glowing skin and the black colour dress added to her beauty.
"Man! This girl looks so pretty. Wished she was in my college. I would have taken her to bed by now." Two boys were chatting looking at Swarnima.
Too bad! Her protector heard and whisper warned in their ears, "Don't even think about it. Else, you won't see the sun tomorrow." Abhedya pushed the boy slightly and showed them the fury in his eyes to warn them.Abhedya sat next to Swarnima for dinner but they didn't converse much. They were just happy being around each other.
"Watch me!" The boy who passed comment on Swarnima told Abhedya and banged in Swarnima making her fall flat on floor.
"Oh! I am so sorry... We were just chasing each other and didn't realise you were in our way. Sorry." The boy apologised and ran away from there.
