THE SEARCH for the truth started immediately the next night.

Rain poured down heavily on Therron, slashing onto the large glass windows of the castillo. A pierce of lightning etched onto the inky dark sky every now and then as thunder rumbled ominously.

It was the perfect background noise to fill the sounds of our footsteps by the time we'll sneak out of our chamber.

"Are we really going to do this tonight?" Haisley asked nervously, munching the edge of her hair as I helped tightened her cape.

"Stop being a scaredy ol' cat Haisles." Madison told her as she turned towards us. At the same time, agad na kumidlat nanaman ang langit, showcasing our long, dark shadows that reflected onto the room's walls.

"I'm not scared." Haisley said in defense before biting her lip. "I'm just worried."

"We got this." Pag-reassure ko sa kaniya. "Si Mentor Rome naman ang mismong nagsabi eh."

Haisley finally nodded, still a little hesitant though, but I'm glad she was agreeing.

"Now, are we ready?" I whispered, slowly placing my cloak over my head.

Tumango naman ang dalawa kong kasamahan bago itinaas rin sa kanilang mga ulo ang kanilang kapa.

At that signal, we then quietly left our room and sneaked into the castillo's quiet hallways.

Because of the large windows surrounding the castle, kitang-kita ang bawat sandaling liwanag na dulot ng kidlat, mostly startling us.

"If we get caught though-h, the king might not let us see the light of day." Nag-aalalang sabi ni Haisley as the three of us went down the grand staircase.

"Only if you keep talking. So hush!" Sabi naman ni Madison at nakarating na kami sa west wing ng castillo, kung saan sabi nang mga lalaki ay doon daw kami magkikita-kita.

"They should be here by now." I frown, my cape swirling with my every movement. "Nasaan na sila?"

"Actually... they are." Haisley answered, stepping forward to aim her arm and suddenly punch it forward into the air.

Agad namang bumungad ang tatlong lalaki as soon as Haisley's punch landed into Hugo's face, the guy staggering backwards relentlessly. "You didn't have to punch, alam ko namang mas malakas ka na ngayon." Hugo complained as Haisley grinned, rubbing his sore cheek.

Si Damien naman ay agad na kumindat kay Madison whilst saying, "I feel like Romeo meeting up with my Juliet."

"Not another word." Madison hissed, pointing a threatening finger towards the gentleman in front of her.

"T-Teka," I say, confused. "I get you have your psychic shadow ability Hugo, pero bakit hindi rin namin naramdaman yung presence ni Gabe at Damien?"

Hugo shrugged teasingly habang kinikilatis ni Haisley ang parte kung saan niya sinuntok ang binata. "Well, I can hide other people's presence now too." He said proudly and Haisley slapped his cheek gently.

"Except for me, Mr. Nice Guy," the girl reminded him and Hugo made a face.

"Upgrade of abilities I see." I grin, nodding with approval.

"Wait," Biglang sabi ni Gabryle, placing a finger against his lips as his eyes roamed around us.

Agad naman kaming natahimik at pinakinggan ang hampas ng mga puno at ang pag-sipol ng malakas na hangin.
