AS SOON as I had shut the door behind me, agad akong sumandal dito before sliding my back on it until I had reached the floor.

"What the hell happened to you?" Madison asked when the two of them saw the tears running down on my face.

Seeing my low state, agad na napatayo at lumapit ang dalawang ito, with Madison's hands on her waist and Haisley worriedly rushing towards me.

"Nothing." I mumbled, hastily wiping away the tears with a sniff. Tutulungan na sana ako ni Haisley na tumayo but I merely waved my hands and shook my head.

"I'm fine." I sniffed, raising my chin and huffing out the strands of fallen hair that had covered my face as I stood up on my own.

"You don't look fine." Madison frowned, raising an eyebrow as they watched me stand up.

"I swear Maddie, I am." I said coldly before plopping down on the nearest bed and burying my face in the soft, clean sheets.

"I'm just worried for the match, that's all." I managed to mumble unintelligently at naramdaman ko namang gumalaw ang higaan ko. Madison and Haisley were probably sitting at the edge of my bed.

"Skylar, we all are. But I'm telling you, we got this." Narinig kong sabi ni Haisley, patting my back gently.

"Yeah." I say in a sad tone, letting a few tears escape from my eyes once more, soaking the sheets. "Just... nevermind me."

With a sigh from both girls and a few moments thereafter, gumaan naman bigla ang higaan ko and I heard their feet shuffle away from me and my bed.

Masakit man sa puso ang ginagawa ko ngayon ay kailangan ko 'tong gawin para sa ikabubuti ng lahat. With me out of Gabryle's mind, he can go back to focusing on leading our team in the Ethearia Crown Match and ensure our win.

The prince of Therron might have promised last night to protect me in the match, pero hindi niya alam ay matagal na rin akong nangako sa buwan.

Just like what the six of us had promised through the goblet of our own shared blood, I will protect this team of ours with all of my life — whether they like it or not, and even if it means my own death.

All of them have families and loved ones waiting for them at home; lalong-lalo na si Gabryle. Hindi lang pamilya ang naghihintay sa kaniya kundi pati na rin ang kabuuan ng Therron. He, and the others, deserve to live.

I on the other hand have no one left anyway. Walang mawawala pag ako ang mamamatay.

Besides, these last few weeks had made me feel more alive than I ever was in my entire life. Kung mamamatay man ako sa Ethearia Crown Match ay okay lang. Worth it naman ang lumaban para sa Therron kasama ang limang ito na tinuring ko nang pamilya.

What's important is when things get out of hand, I will be the one to make sure all five of them lives.

"Whatever it takes." I whispered to myself before burying my face back into the sheets of my bed.

As I was about to close my eyes in an attempt to sleep all my feelings away, bigla namang may kumatok mula sa pintuan namin.

The knocks were gentle amidst the rapping on our door's wood, and Haisley was the first to jump up and open it.

She was still in her noticeable pastel yellow uniform and high hair-do, but this time, hindi na niya kasama ang makulit at cute na winged wolf. Instead, she had a tray filled with different kinds of unfamiliar dishes in her hands.
