Scars of the Past

---

THE GREAT Hall was dead quiet.

Not one soul dared to speak after my righteous claim to the throne, and even I too was sucking up a breath inside my throat, waiting for Queen Winthrop's next course of action.

As thunder roared from outside the castle's walls, the queen's icy gaze was set straight upon me.

Her look was defiant and deadly in guise. Hindi ko alam kung namamalik-mata lang ako, but I can see little blue flames of anger in her eyes as if she was doing all she can not to burst out her rage and temper.

With another deep breath, I spoke once more.

"What?" I challenged her. "Afraid of hearing the truth?"

My heart was at my throat by now, and it was taking all of my willpower to be courageous in front of her — and in front of Ethearia.

With a sharp whirl, I then faced Avery whose wand was pointed at me. Lumalabas dito ang mga maliliit na particle na maingat na nag-le-levitate sa hangin. Minsan kulay asul ito, minsan naman kulay ube. It was Aetherium, and just like the one we saw inside the glass jar back at the main office of the Solis Technology Department, may maliliit na kidlat ang biglang lumilitaw pag nagtatama ang ibang mga particles.

She was still projecting my image.

Using this opportunity, I then spoke out to the people of Ethearia.

"This woman that you call queen?" I say in defiance, gesturing towards Winthrop. "Is a murderer. Nothing but an evil, power-grabbing tyrant. Ten years ago she took away the entirety of my life that night she killed my parents and threw me off a train."

"Wala bang nagtataka sa inyo kung bakit hindi umiilaw ang korona tuwing isusuot niya ito?" I asked, imagining the entirety of Ethearia listening to me.

"The answer to that is right in front of you." I stated, now gesturing to myself before instinctively clutching on my necklace. "I am next in line to the throne as King Reagan Knightley's legal daughter; therefore making Queen Winthrop's reign and rules obsolete."

I paused for a moment to breathe.

"Anyone who is now being oppressed by any Lethal, Solis Guard, or anyone still blindly obeying to Winthrop's order of spreading fear — you are not alone. Finally, it's now our turn to fight back." Huminga ulit ako ng malalim.

"This oppression that Ethearia has been facing for ten whole years ends today — but only if you allow it to, and only if all of you join me in this act of ending it." Mariin kong sabi, at nakikita ko sa likuran ni Avery ang mga proud na ngiti nina Haisley sa akin.

"To the Luna Mage Weavers and Thalians of Therron and Kirospea, do not lose hope. Let the fire in your kingdoms represent the now burning flame within our souls — the blaze of rebellion."

"And to my people, the kingdom of Castell should have never been used as an instrument for tyranny." I said sadly, my heart now pouring for my own bloodline. "As your true and only queen, I command that you join me in helping our fellow Ethearians in Therron and Kirospea. Let us take this opportunity to restore the good reputation of our kingdom, and the balance between all three regions of Ethearia."

"Today will be marked great in history." I nodded to my own words.

"Today, we will be remembered."
