Luna Battle

---

LIGHT FELL upon Luna de Castillo in majestic rays, the golden crease of the sunset appearing through the mountains.

Today was none other than our last day of training.

Stepping out of the dining chamber after eating our afternoon snacks felt so surreal, as if we were coming face to face with the full turning point of our lives.

Queen Minerva had gotten worried about the king's condition, thus the reason why she didn't leave her husband's side all day long. She told Mufos to relay a message to us though: i-enjoy lang daw namin ang aming huling training.

Despite this message, the pressure and anxiety had taken its toll on all of us; even though we've been trying our best to follow Queen Minerva's advice.

Another thing bothering me was that most of today's morning consisted of me wondering what would have happened if I didn't end up staying in this castillo. Madalas ay napapatitig nalang ako sa kawalan, addressing these what-ifs and all these countless thoughts about my parents, prophecies, and whatnot.

Saka ko lang naisip na if it weren't for that day at the wet market, maybe my life would have been so different from the crazy turn of events I'm currently experiencing now.

Maybe I wouldn't even be alive right now.

Because if it weren't for these people, hindi rin naman ako magkakaroon ng rason pa para mabuhay.

Pagkalabas na pagkalabas palang namin sa pintuan ay agad na bumungad sa amin ang malaking glass window katapat ng royal dining chamber. Makikita dito ang kagandahan ng pagbagsak ng araw; as if the dusk was waiting for us.

Haisley, who was beside me, gave out a little sigh. "Last day," she said quietly and Hugo nodded in agreement.

"Last day." Damien repeated.

"Last half of today's training." Madison corrected us at natahimik muli kaming lahat.

Ilang segundo rin kaming nawala sa landas ng realidad as we savored the ethearal view of the sunset — savoring these few moments before our last training together.

Gabryle, who was even more silent than usual, had his hands in his pockets. Kung kinakabahan kaming mga co-members niya, ay mas lalo na siguro siya bilang head at team leader namin.

After all, he was the Luna prince. It is his duty to be responsible for the Luna Mage Weavers, for the kingdom of Therron, and for the outcome of our team.

Ang kalagayan ng Therron ay nakasalalay sa kaniya.

"Luna Team," Mentor Royce's voice snapped us out of our reverie as he and our mentors, along with Chancellor Asteria, stepped out of the dining chamber as well.

"We should not waste this opportunity." he said calmly, and we hung our heads obediently. "Palapit na ang gabi which is perfect for the last part of your training, so let's make this one count. Assemble yourselves at once in the Luna Chamber."

"Yes, head mentor." Gabryle replied back in behalf of the team, and with a nod, we then followed the adults into our usual assembly area.

"Good luck, Luna Team." The Chancellor greeted us before giving a little wave which made us feel a little better.
