(This story is not gonna follow the actual anime, im just using the characters and some of the plot points. I'll be adding some new characters and a new organization entirely but regardless, i hope you enjoy.)
Rejected and hated... that's all Ken ev...
*Beep! Beep! Beep!* I groan as i smacked my hand arround the nightstand next to my bed in the apartment im staying in.
"Ugghhh.... shut up you peace of shit. Im awake..." I remark as i continue to smack the nightstand blindly trying to find that insufferable alarm clock. After a few minutes of doing so i managed to get the thing off. I lazily sat up from my bed and pulled the covers off of me. The cold air of the room briskly biting the skin of my exposed shirtless torso.
I rumaged throug my belongings, grabbing a shirt, shorts, and a towel, making my way to the bathroom afterwards.
I got in closed the door without even bothering to lock it. Walking over to the showers and pulling the curtains to cover me and spinning the shower valve.
Warm water trickles down on me, soaking my white hair making it go heavy and droop down to cover my face. I picked up a sponge from one of the wall-shelves and began to scrub myself clean.
After 10 minutes or so in the showers i emerged from the bathroom already clothed with the aformentioned shirt and shorts i brought in and a towel resting on my head to dry my still wet and drooping hair.
I sat on the edge of my bed and looked arround the place. The dry paint on the walls are pealing off and my dirty clothes scattered about the floor. I guess i was so tired after saving (Y/N) last night that i forgot to wash them.
...(Y/N)... i wonder if where that kid is...
My thoughts were cut short by the sound of my stomach grumbling.
"Okay okay i'll get breakfast" i to my not-so-happy stomach with a chuckel.
Over the years i've learned to regain my humanity slightly and being able to feed on normal human food for the most part, as long as i dont get too injured and needing to regenerate, i wont need to eat human flesh which is a massive weight off my chest.
But that does remind me, to eat i need money and my savings are running dry. I need to go find a job.
~Short Time Skip~
After walking out of my apartment, i began to look around for a place i could eat, but then i remembered.
"Oh right! I didnt get to go to that café last night! Maybe i should go buy some food there." I say to myself for dramatic effect.
Following my intuition i went back the same road as i did last night and made it into the café. I looked arround, the place is suprisingly full especialy at still this early in the morning.
The scenery reminds me of when i first met Touka.... Touka..... whatever happened to her after the attack? She was the closest person i know, and we even tried dating for a little while. It didn't really go so well.
"Kaneki?"
Before my thoughts take me too deep into sadness, a very familiar voice calls out to me. I turned my gaze slightly to the right and i was met with two big (e/c) (eye colour) eyes looking at me.
"Oh hey... (Y/N)....."
Wow... i didnt get to examine his features yesterday but now i can see it all. His face somewhat resembled that of a 12 year old. With big round eyes and a beaming smile. He. Is. Adorable.
"Uhh.. Kaneki? Hellooo? Earth to Kaneki?" (Y/N) says as he snaps me out of my daze.
"Eh what?" I say as i frantically looked arround to eventualy land on (Y/N)'s concerned face.
"Are you okay? You spaced out." (Y/N) says.
"Yeah! Im fine!" I say as i frantically wave my hands infront of me.
"Good! Oh and also you're blocking the door."
"What?" And as i looked back, he was very much correct, a line of 4 people were behind me, complaining and throwing glares at me.
Before anyone says any word-daggers toward my direction (Y/N) pulled me aside, showing an appologetic look towards the line of people and shoving me toward a table in the corner of the room.
On one side of the table were set some sugary treets, a small cheesecake, and a strawbery milkshake. I asume that belongs to (Y/N). And on the other side was.... oh....
On the other side of the table sat Goro (L/N). Owner of the East Asian Trading Company, one of Japan's richest and most successful buisnesses. so (Y/N) is part of this family.

The man saw that (Y/M) was holding my arm and imediately glared daggers-no, glared greatswords at me.
"(Y/N). Who is that?" He says in a deep and threatning voice filled to the brim with venom.
"Oh don't be so hostile! This is Ken Kaneki. He's the one that saved me yesterday."
As soon as (Y/N) said that, Goro's expresion took a complete 180. He looks at me with shock which then changed into a big warm and genuine smile.
"Oh! Im sorry i had no idea!" He stated as he stood up from his seat and shook my hand.
"Please forgive the initial glare i gave, let's start ovet then. Im Goro (L/N), pleasure to meet you."
"Kaneki Ken, the pleasure is all mine."
Goro then continued "Please, take a seat." He says as he offered the seat facing him.
I did as i was told and sat down, (Y/N) soon following and sitting beside me. Goro snapped his fingers in the air, to which a waiter was quick to respond and fastened her pace towards our table.
"Kaneki, go ahead and order." Goro said to me with a wide smile.
I ordered a simple bento and some coffee but before the waiter retreats to the back room, Goro ordered one more of my bento for take-away.
We chatted a little as we wait for my food to come. Goro told me that he was forever greatful and that i can always count on him should i need anything.
He then gave me his number and (Y/N) did the same too. After a few more minutes of waiting my food arrived and Goro recieved a phone call not long after, he excused himself from the table and came back minutes later to inform us that he needed to get back to work.
(Y/N) protested but in the end accepted that Goro had to go back to his job given his position. Goro gave (Y/N) a pat on the head and also gave me his farewells, after which (Y/N) said something that i never would have suspected.
(Y/N) "Bye-Bye Nii-Chan!!"
Ken "*choking on his bento* HE'S YOU'RE BROTHER??!!"
Annd it's a wrap! I can't believe i actually made two chapters in one day. Again, i would like to point out that NONE of the art used in this book belongs to me, all the credit is to be given to their respective artists.
