Ken's POV

*yawn*

I sat up from my bed and stretched my arms in the air to remove any drowsiness from my body. I slowly opened my eyes and realized i wasnt in my appartment.

Oh right... im in The Brotherhood now... wait what time is it?

I took my phone from the nightstand, unpluged the charger and turned it on only to see that it was 11:36.

Ken "shit!"

I quickly jumped out of my new bed and ran down from the loft, grabbing an outfit, a towel and running out my room like a madman.

I can't be late on my first day as an initiate! Damn it, why did that bed have to be so comfy?!

I ran into the showering area only to see that it was empty and im not suprised given the time. I took a quick shower and got dressed, after that i made my way to the grand dining room but before i could make it there, i was stopped by one of the members.

??? "Whoa! Slow down, you might bump into someone. Hey wait... you're the new guy right?"

Ken "huh? Oh yeah, im Kaneki."

??? "Im Lily, nice to meet you. Now what's with the hurry anyway?"

Ken "oh... yeah umm.. this is embarassing..."

Lily "Oh come on, im sure its not that bad."

Ken "I kinda... overslept."

Lily "OH... no worries!"

Ken "huh?"

Lily "stop being so tense, we're a family here. And besides, there isnt any agenda so you can sleep as long as you like!"

Ken "but... im an initiate."

Lily "dont worry about it! I overslept a lot of times, believe me, your targets arent going anywhere."

Hearing that got a lot of weight off my chest. I heaved a sigh of relief as i relaxed my previosly tense body.

Ken "phew... oh wait. What should i do now?"

Lily "go and have breakfast, or i guess lunch in your case. And then go find one of the Black Hand members. You know them right? Bertha, (Y/N), Goro, Nerozu, Gabel."

Ken "alright! I'll go to them now, thanks."

Lily "no prob!"

I walked towards the grand dining room to see about 6 people there. and (Y/N) was one of them. They were sitting at the long table and seemed to be telling stories.

??? "And then i said... 'that's not an oven, that's my wife!'"

All "HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

They all laughed and (Y/N) was banging the table, but all that i had in mind was;

What came before that punchline...?

Anyway, setting aside my curiosities i walked over to my lover. Some of them noticed me and gave a smile to me. (Y/N) turned his back and faced my direction, giving me a wave and a wide smile.

(Y/N) "Hey!! You finaly woke up! Dang, you slept like a rock."

Ken "yeah.. sorry about that.."

(Y/N) "oh no biggie. We're not in a rush anyway!"

I grabbed some food and the previous person sitting next to (Y/N) scooched over and offered me the spot, so i took it and gave them a greatful smile.
