Unexpected...

(Y/N)'s POV

*bang* *bang* *bang*
I hid behind a table as i heard the gunshots firing off in the distance. Ken is currently hunting down the actual assassination target meanwhile i have to provide distraction.

Goddamnit! Everything was going so well until another ghoul ruined everything! She even got away! Ken, if you find her, rip her throat out will you?

*clank*

What the heck is... *gasp* a bomb!!

Ken's POV

*KABOOOOMMM*
Shit. That sounded like it came from the ballroom. I hope (Y/N) is okay...

I turned a corner and continued chasing my target. His two bodyguards spun around and started shooting at me with pistols. Hmph. I felt worse during training.

I charged at them and activated my kagune. The tendrils sliced both of them in half while their boss finally reached a dead end and fell on the ground covering himself.

Target "No! No! Please! I'll give you money. Lots and lots of money, just please let me live!"

Ken "sorry. Im just doing my job."

I aimed my kagune at him, but right before i dealt the killing blow, a red crystal came from behind me and killed the man.

I looked behind me to see... no way....

Touka....

My mouth gaped and my eyes folded wide open as i saw her. She looked straight at me with sadness in her eyes.

Ken "T-Touka... is that you...?"

She didn't answer, she just looked away from me and then ran. She jumped into one of the vents and dissappeared.

I can't believe this... Touka... I thought she was dead.... i thought all of them were dead! And what... what happened to the child she was bearing...?

(Y/N) "Ken!"

A familiar voice snaps me out of my thoughts. I looked forward again and saw (Y/N) running down the hallway toward me.

(Y/N) "The target's dead right?"

He took a short glance behind me.

(Y/N) "good. Come on, we need to get out of here, this place is gonna blow!"

I couldn't respond. He just grabbed my hand and started running. We made it to the utility staircase, i thought we were gonna run down, that is until he jumped through the hole at the middle of the stairwell and used his kagune to drag me down with him. As we dropped, i saw the explosion he was referring to. The floor we were just on suddenly be filled with flame.

After a few more moments of running through collapsing pillars, falling debris, and fiery explosions, we made it out to see a few corpses gathered around (Y/N)'s car and his butler Romanov waiting outside it. He opened the door and we both got into the car. Then Romanov hit the gas and we were off.

(Y/N) was looking through the back window panting. After turning a few corners, we were far away from the brning building and any ghoul investigators or policemen.

(Y/N) slounched down next to me with a long sigh and let his body spread out.

(Y/N) "Gah! What the hell was that?! That son-of-a-blyat ghoul that blew our cover!"

Yeah... Touka...

(Y/N) "Gragh! If only i noticed sooner, i would've strangled her with her own intestines! Ugh... hopefully that explosion killed her at least. Right Ken?"
