I had just confessed my feelings towards Ellie and told her I love her. Ever since I first saw her in Japanese class I have felt something. She's the most amazing girl I've ever met and I never want to lose her. Alex had gone silent and was completely still. "Please Ellie." A few moments later, Ellie looked at me and slowly started to nod. The wind started to speed up and become more powerful. Ellie went to climb down so I went over to help her but as I was inches away, the wind became too strong for her to fight. She had lost too much blood and was too weak causing her to go flying backwards and into the ocean.

Alex finally snapped back into action and we both race for the edge of the pier whilst screaming for help. Ellie was being consumed by the black ocean and into the unknow depths. I couldn't see her or any air bubbles indicating her where abouts. "She needs help." Alex shouted as he leaped over the fence and plummeted into the water and without hesitation I soon followed. The moment I entered the water the coldness consumed my body but I didn't care. Ellie was my priority. I was swimming around but I had no such luck with finding her. I needed some air so I came back up to the surface and as I did so did Alex. "I can't find her, can you?" I asked,

"no but we can't give up so keep looking." We both dove back down into the depths being only allowed to use our sense of touch at attempt to find her. My heart was pounding out of my chest. Where was she? What felt like forever, my hope started to disappear along with the air left in my body. I wasn't going to find her. It was too dark and the coldness was starting to affect my body. I swam back for the shore and as I did crowds of people flooded the beach along with police cars and ambulances, someone must have saw what had happened or heard us screaming and dialled 999. I reached the sand and my body collapsed and oxygen returned to my lungs. I jolted up realising that Alex was still out there and was now nowhere to be found either. I went to run back into the water to find him when someone grabbed my arm. I turned around and saw it was a paramedic, he pulled me over to one of the ambulances and popped me into the back then wrapped a blanket around me. Where was Alex and Ellie? I went to run and find them when an ambulance zoomed past me and back up to the main road. "What's going on?" I was panicking and no one was answering. "Will someone please fricken tell me? Please. Have you found Ellie? Someone please answer me."

"I found her but I don't think I found her in time. She's being taken to the hospital." It was Alex, he was sat on the ground with his head in his hands, he slowly raised his head and I instantly noticed a massive gash on the side of his head. "How did that happen to your head?"

"I found Ellie and as I grabbed a hold of her the waves picked up sending us smashing into a pole but it's fine." Alex continued as he led me up the beach, "we need to get to the hospital quick." I agreed with him and we got back into Matt's car. We made sure to stop at Alex's house to change into some dry clothes, Alex let me borrow some of his as we were about the same size. Whilst Alex was changing, I packed a bag for Ellie like a change of clothes and the book she was reading.

We were sat in the waiting room waiting for the doctor to come and give us some news. It's been over an hour since we got here. I'd rang my mum and Max to tell them what happened and Alex rang his aunt. "Did you really mean it?" Alex asked.

"Mean what?"

"That you love my sister?"

"I.." But then the doctor came over and interrupted. "The police found this and wanted me to pass this along," the doctor said as he passed Alex Ellie's bag.

"Is my sister okay?"

"We have done everything we could for her. I'm sorry to tell you this but she's lost a lot of blood and there's only a small chance she'll wake up from her coma and recover. If you'd like to follow me I'll take you to her." We followed the doctor into a small white room that smelled of fresh linen and had a slight chill to it. Ellie was led onto the bed hooked up to loads of machines and I had no clue what they were. She looked so pale and haggard. Alex was stood outside the room talking to the doctor so I went inside and sat next to her. I grabbed her hand and held it close to my face and slowly whispered, "please wake up Ellie. I know you are strong enough to fight this. We all need you here. I need you here. You have so much to live for. Please Ellie."
