If there was one thing I loved more than anything it was my job. I loved to bake. I loved the smell, I loved the preciseness, I loved the predictability. I loved knowing that if I add sugar to something it made it sweet. I loved everything about baking. It's the one thing in my life I could always count on being good. "You know your shift ended almost half an hour ago" Linda said to me as I covered a bowl of dough to rise over night. "I know" I responded without making eye contact with her. "I'm going to lock up soon you should head home you're starting school tomorrow aren't you?" She said "Yes" I responded with a sigh as I headed over to the sink to wash my hands. "Why so blue?" Linda asked, "high school is the best time of your life. The people you connect with there stay with you almost your whole life" she added. I rolled my eyes geez I thought to myself I don't think there's one person worth remembering at ridgemont.
