The next morning I arrived to English before Melody which was quite unusual. I sat down at my regular seat hoping she was going to show up soon and take her seat by the window per usual. She eventually came in, she had hid her bruise underneath her eye a bit better today. But I noticed she had a bandage wrapped around her hand. She sat down facing the window not looking at me once the whole class period. I tried to pass her a note but she just pushed it off her desk without looking my way. When the bell finally rang she sped out the door. But I wasn't going to let her get away, "MELODY" I yelled down the hall as I started to sprint after her she pushed the door to exit the front of the school without looking back. When I finally caught up and tapped her shoulder she whipped around with anger deep in her eyes. "What do you want Kaiser? The project is done. I've made it clear we're not friends. What do you want from me?" I took her hand but this time she pushed it away "Stop" she said firmly. So I let go of her hand and she started walking but I wasn't going to give up. "Melody come on, what about last night?" She stopped walking now not turning to face me. "What about last night?" She said as if she was worried but I couldn't understand why she would be worried about our kiss. "I know you feel some type of way about me too but you're too stubborn to admit it" I said without thinking. "Look Kaiser whatever you think you're wrong. I made it clear that this is just a project. I'm not looking to be dissected or broken down. I don't know what's your fascination with me but quit it. We both know you're just filling a void in your life by analyzing me to no end." Now I was frustrated "I never took you to be a liar Melody, I know that's not how you really feel and if you opened up to me maybe you would see we could have something great" I said. "Oh ya well the one word I described you as from the start is lonely. And my chosen word hasn't changed" she snapped back. I was silent processing her words, she didn't turn around instead she walked away.
