After seeing Melody by the field I was glad I had convinced her to stay for the game. Maybe seeing her would make me less distracted then thinking about meeting her at the pond later on. She sat on the bleachers not paying attention even slightly to anything but her book. Interesting I thought, I had seen her finish The Chronicles of Narnia earlier in the day but she seemed to have start it over again. When the game was over I walked up the bleachers and sat in front of her, she was still reading when I sat down. "The Chronicles of Narnia again?" I asked putting my equipment down next to me "yeah" she said closing the book. "How many times have you read it?" I asked, she shrugged "about 13 times" she said. I nodded, "what?" She said annoyed, "nothing a good book should be read more then once" I answered. "No, a good book doesn't disappoint you when you read it more then once" she said. "Anyway, today's question is what do you aspire to be?" She added. "Hmmm I guess I aspire to do whatever makes me happy" I said "and why is that?" she said as she took notes. "Because if I aspire to be happy and become happy what more could I ask for" I said. She stopped writing looked up and said "respectable". I smiled "and what do you aspire to be Melody?" I asked, "successful. I want to look back on my life and know I accomplished something meaningful" she said. "Respectable" I said back and that was the first time I had ever seen her smile.
