Continuation of Mary & Rose - I

Just to add to the thought of bad horror movies, the door from where the girls entered slammed shut without anyone being near it, causing Rose to jump out of her skin and Mary to curse not so ladylike. Rose went to run to the door when Mary pulled her back by their joint hands, her features contorted into an emotionless mask that had Rose shivering at the lack of emotion.

"It won't budge." Mary claimed calmly to the blonde, Rose instantly knowing that she was referring to the red door, she wanted to question how she knew that the door wouldn't budge but simultaneously knew that the number of horror movies that she had watched and Mary had listened were reminder enough of everything that happened.

The ruckus started once more, this time closer to them, a mannequin slowly began to move its head in the two female's direction, another one behind that one moving as well striking undeniable fear in Rose, who clutched Mary's forearm in fright, a whimper falling from her lips.

The mannequins began to close in on the two women prompting them to back away from them, Rose's ragged and scared breathing and the mannequin's squeaking filled the room, a sound that surely reminded Rose of horror movies, "Stay away." Mary ordered defensively as she pushed Rose behind her, her protective nature over the 19-year-old blonde coming forth.

In the short time that she had known Rose she had grown to care for her like she was her younger sibling, wanting to protect her against all costs, and this was one in those instances in which those feelings and nature came into play.

The mannequins didn't listen to her of course, they merely kept closing in on them until they had them pressed against a wall, Rose cowering behind Mary and Mary standing tall and defiantly, ready to take the blunt of any attack that they were about to make. That was until a hand clasped her free one, bringing her attention to her lift side to see a man leaning forward to them, a mischievous glint in his eyes and a sneaky smile on his lips.

"Run."

That simple three-lettered word was the only thing that he uttered, but it was more than enough for Mary to grab his hand tightly in hers and allow him to pull her out of them, effectively rescuing her and Rose from certain death. Rose stumbled the first few steps out of the room and into safety, her clumsy nature getting the best of her, clearly ready to have her drop on the ground had it not been for Mary holding her up.

Not that Mary complained or berated her for it, she knew that Rose had not seen the man that had rescued them until he had them dashing down a hallway, meaning she was not prepared for when they began running, had Mary herself not seen the man she would have done the same.

The mannequins wasted no time in speed walking after them, clearly desperate to catch the two girls, not catching up to them until they were inside one of the elevators of the shop, that thankfully was on the basement level.

The stranger pushed both women inside the elevator before entering himself, pressing the closing button and standing back until one of the reached his arm inside as the doors were closing, Rose squealed slightly in fright and before anyone could do anything Mary side-swept it into their rescuer's arms, effectively dismembering it from the mannequin's body.

"You kicked his arm off." Rose whispered breathlessly, her chest heaving like crazy as she tried to calm her racing heart, she had seen Mary fight before, tackle down a robber, hell just training at the gym, she knew Mary was lethal in a fight, but in that precise moment, she didn't know whether to be happy or scared.

"Yes she did, brilliant kick." the stranger complimented giving the girls a smile, "Plastic." he chucked the arm at Rose who feebly caught and peered over at Mary, watching her analyzing the stranger, "Who were they? Students? Is this a student thing or what?" she dared question the man, although she knew that the answer she craved for was not the one she was going to get.

"Why would they be students?" the man countered, crossing his arms over his chest and peering over at the quiet dark-skinned woman, her kick and protective nature had sparked a small interest in him, although he would never admit it out loud. "I don't know." Rose replied still breathless, "Well you said it, why students?" he mocked the blonde as if he was a child.

"I'd quit being rude if I were you." Mary warned, her voice cold and distant, something that Rose recognized as her security voice, the man seemed to sense that this woman was not to be messed with and neither was the blonde as she appeared to be under the brunette's wing. "When Wilson finds whoever those things are, he'll call the police."

"Who's Wilson?" The man questioned, genuine lack of knowledge clear in his face as he furrowed his brows, "Chief electrician." the two women chorused, "Wilson's dead." he replied, leaving the elevator as soon as the doors opened, leaving an angry Mary and flabbergasted Rose to follow after him.

"Excuse me! You don't just declare someone's dead and walk off!" Mary growls angrily, she may not have liked Wilson but he was a human being ho had just died and the insensitivity that the man had regarding the subject just angered her tremendously.  "Mind your eyes." the man warned, pushing them away from where his body was facing, the same direction in which after a moment of something buzzing blew sparks and smoke.

"Who are you? Who are those lot down there?!" Rose quizzed angrily as the man started to walk away again, her voice turning slightly shrill, an indicator that she was close to losing her temper. Clearly knowing better than to remain where she was Rose walked after the stranger, Mary following behind sparing one final glance at the fuming elevator button.

"They're made of plastic. Living plastic creatures. They're being controlled by a relay device in the roof. Which would be a great big problem if I didn't have this." The man says, turning around just long enough to pull a device from the inside of his coat and display it to the two women, Rose frowning at it and Mary gasping lowly, clearly recognising it.

Once he turned back to the front, the girls shared a look as he opened the fire escape door, allowing the cool evening breeze to blow in, "So! I'm going to go up there and blow them up, and I might well die in the process. But don't worry about me, no. Go home, go on! Go and have your lovely beans on toast." he corner, clearly being sarcastic regarding the beans on toast as the two women slipped outside.

"Don't tell anyone about this, because if you do, you'll get them killed." he added quickly before shutting the door, leaving a confused Rose and an annoyed Mary. "I pray to the stars we never see him again." Mary claimed as she turned to the blonde, watching her frown turn into an amused smile in return to her words, only growing them the door opens once more to reveal, once again the man.

"I'm the Doctor, by the way, what're your names?" he sounded genuine curious about their names, something that threw Mary off,  "I'm Rose, she's Mary." Rose replied politely, the stranger, the Doctor nodded and mouthed their names, looking at each as he mouthed their names before finishing "Nice to meet you, now run for your life."

He shut the door again and this time Mary grabbed the blonde by her wrist and led her away, Rose chucking away the plastic arm as they passed a few bins, running across the street, narrowly avoiding being run over by a taxi before Rose dared look back at the building just in time to see the top floor blow up.
