Continuation of Mary & Rose - III
As Mary entered her apartment she felt the stress of the day and night hit her like a ton of brick, her shoulders sagging as she slipped off her work shoes, the house was dark and cold, something she welcomed greatly as she felt a headache bubble in the back of her head. Her light ginger and white cat, Zeus, greeted her by rubbing himself against her legs and meowing gently at her.
She could faintly hear Jackie on the phone, her home being on the floor above them, "You have no idea what happened tonight Zeus." She muttered down to him while shrugging off her coat and hanging it on the hanger next to the door, Zeus meows and padded away from her.
Morning came too fast for Mary's taste, her alarm clock blaring in her ear bringing her out of her slumber, Zeus was the one who turned off the alarm, pushing it off the bedside table and allowing it to clatter on the ground. This earned him an annoyed grumble from his owner who slipped out of bed, despite having no work anymore she knew that she had to start looking for a new one, preferably with better bosses than her previous ones.
Zeus meowed at her in disapproval for her having gotten up but stayed in bed none the less, staying in the warmth that had been created during the night.
Nearly an hour later Mary was walking into the Tyler's apartment with slightly wet hair, Jackie greeted her with a kiss on her temple and a mug of tea, "Please tell Rose that she has to look for a job quickly and sue for compensation." Jackie pleaded, her tone motherly and loving with a hint of authority behind it, something that Mary found amusing.
"You should sue for compensation." She echoed robotically, earning a loving smack on her arm, "Jackie's right Ro, you should sue them. Hell, I should sue them." she reiterated, winking at the blonde 19-year-old the second her mother was behind her. The sudden sound of the cat door on the front door rattling as if something came through grabbed the attention of two younger women.
"Mum, you're such a liar, I told you to nail that cat flap down. We're going to get strays!" Rose grumbled as she stood up from her seat and walked to the front door, "Mary did it weeks back!" Jackie replied from her bedroom, the brunette in question humming in agreement while she sipped her tea. "I did it on my day off, as well as fixing every broken thing in this apartment."
Upon reaching the door, Rose kneeled to the ground to discover iron nails on the ground right in front of the cat flap, "The nails fell off." Rose said loudly enough for the other two women in the house to hear her, missing the frown that settled on the brunette's face at her words. Suddenly the cat flap moves violently, startling Rose enough to have her leap onto the balls of her feet, her blue eyes instantly flying to Mary's back with slight fear.
Mary was quite oblivious to the blonde's distress as she heard rapid tapping in the living room, the sound completely captivating her interest. Seen that something had grabbed the brunette's attention, Rose decided to kneel back down and gently poke the flap, bringing her hand back to see if something came through. When nothing did, she pushed it open with one finger to open it completely, coming face to face with the man from the shop, the Doctor.
The blonde stands up once more and nearly pulls the door off its hinges as she throws it open, "What're you doing here?" the man frowns, his voice filling Mary's ears, bringing the brunette to the door, "I live here." Rose retorted slightly angrily, which was comprehensible as he did blow up both her and Mary's job nearly to smitherines the previous night. "Well, what do you do that for?" the man croned, his blue eyes flying over the blonde's head and locking on Mary's figure behind her, watching as she rose a brow in confusion.
"Because I do! And I'm only at home because someone blew up my job." Rose spits angrily, the two women watching as the man reached inside his jacket and pulled out the same cylindrical mechanical tube they'd seen the previous night. "Must've got the wrong signal. You're not plastic, are you?" he frowned as the cylindrical object in his hand seemed to make a sound that was a mix of a low hum, mechanical whirring and static, a sound that would annoying anyone to death but actually felt weirdly comforting to the brunette.
He then knocked on Rose's forehead with quite a bit of strength making her to take a step back, "No, bonehead. Bye, then!" Both shocked and angry Rose quickly grabbed his arm and yanked him inside before he had the chance to get away.
