Continuation of Bounty Hunters - I
This chapter does not appear in the show, so it won't have an episode to be based of.
"Planet?" she questioned, "Naboo." he told her, this name caused her to raise a brow and smile at him slightly, "Navu?" she inquired, knowing fully well what he had told her, "Naboo." The Doctor corrected with a small smile on his lips, "Anything interesting out those doors?" she countered, leaning to the side to look at the door while the Doctor could only watch her face shine with nearly masked curiosity.
"Shall we see?" he asked her softly, bringing her chocolate eyes to him, locking with his blue ones, clashing even "Have you parked the TARDIS?" she pressed, her tone just as soft as his, "Not yet, you know just in case you didn't like it." he chuckled turning back to the console and flicking switches and pressing a few buttons, causing the whole ship to shake.
The shaking was the source of the Doctor leaving the TARDIS's breaks on, something that the TARDIS herself had told Mary when the brunette had asked permission upon first arriving and being alone with her.
"There. Landed." He smirked, "Mind if I check?" She countered, pushing herself up off the seat, her eye never leaving his figure, the Doctor motioned to the door and watched as Mary calmly walked towards it. She sure as stars was different from all the other companions he had ever had, she didn't seem that fascinated with the fact that he was alien or that his ship traveled through time and space.
Mary pulled the door open and stared outside, aliens of all sizes and shapes, colours and manner of clothing roam about, it was truly a sight to be seen, "Naboo, one of the most populated planets in the whole galaxy, its one of the main trading planets." The Doctor says from behind her, his presence close to her, but not close enough to consider him leaning support.
Mary rolled her eyes at him and stepped out, feeling the Doctor follow suit and closing the door, "I know a little shop not far from here that has the best moonberry cheesecake in the entire galaxy." he tells her in a content tone, "Moonberry? Like berries farmed on moons?" Mary questioned, her tone filled with curiosity but her eyes betraying it, shinning with amusement instead.
"Yes, moonberries were first found in..." the Doctor began, turning to her and placing the TARDIS's key in his pocket, "Zura." Mary finished, the name slipping from her lips before she could even stop them, the Doctor nodded but frowned, "The TARDIS told me that Zura moonberries are your favourite." Mary was quick to explain.
The Doctor nodded once more, only this time slowly while Mary smiled at him, it was clear that the Doctor didn't believe her, the TARDIS, his TARDIS never spoke to any of his companions so why would it talk to Mary.
"Now, you mentioned cheesecake to a woman who could devour a dinosaur, are you going to lead the way?" Mary attempted to dissuade the air, successfully it would seem because a beaming smile etched on the Doctor's face, "Now this may be a shock to you, a human, but not all aliens actually look like humans, some may look humanoid but they aren't related, at least not fully, to humans." he explained as he grabbed Mary's hand once more.
Mary allowed him to do it and to lead her away from the Tardis, allowing her brown eyes to wander around while the Doctor babbled about how great the cheesecakes were. There was a strange feeling of familiarity in this action, this hand-holding while walking around, a familiarity that made comfort bloom inside both of them.
The commute to the little shop that had the best moonberry cheesecake in the entire galaxy was not a long one and it actually allowed Mary to see different species, families and their pets, it was quite a sight.
"I wonder if Hemna still runs the shop." The Doctor questioned out loud as they arrived at the corner where the shop was, it was quaint and quite rustic for an alien shop, it looked small but Mary wasn't going to comment on it, especially not considering the fact that the TARDIS also looked smaller on the outside.
Just as the Doctor is about to open the door, the door opens itself alone and a body comes flying out, prompting Mary to pull the Doctor out of the way and closer to her in order to avoid being it by the body. A child size, winged, blue creature with a small trunk flew out after the body, hovering just above the ground, waving their hand at the body on the ground, complaining about something in a language that Mary had yet to hear.
"Hemna!" The Doctor greeted, bringing the alien's attention to him, and consequently Mary, the glare that had been on it's face fading into a smile as it hovered over to them, "Doctor!" it greeted, going in for a hug that had the Doctor return with one arm.
