Continuation of Mary & Rose - IX

"If we're somewhere else, what about that headless thing? It's still on the loose." Rose questioned, watching as the Doctor looked around stressed, this allowed Mary to step in and reply "The body melted with the head, it won't harm anyone." slowly the blonde nodded and frowned "You said that they were keeping him alive to make more copies, why?" "Seeing as he speaks, moves and is human, they need a model to create more dummies." Mary explained softly, smiling as Rose nodded once more in understanding.

"If you are an alien, then how come you sound like you're from the North?" The blonde inquired instead, genuine curiousity shinning in her eyes, "Lots of planets have a North." The Doctor chuckled as he crossed his arms and looked around attempting to find a possible source for the signal.

"What's a police public call box?" She quizzed afterwards, "It's a telephone box from the 1950s, you most likely saw those in history movies and books Rose." Mary teased as the Doctor uncrossed his arms and moved closer to his beloved TARDIS, patting it lovingly and adding "It's also a disguise." "From the wrong century Doctor, it's 2005 not 1950 something." Mary snorted, causing Rose smiles and shake her head in agreement.

"What's this living plastic got against us?" The blonde inquired, peering at Mary who stared at the Doctor awaiting his reply, in all fairness it was a relatively important question considering it was the base of all the adventure they had been going on. "Nothing, it loves you. You've got such a good planet. Lots of smoke and oil, plenty of toxins and dioxins in the air... perfect. Just what the Nestene Consciousness needs. It's food stock was destroyed in the war, all its protein plants rotted, so Earth...." The Doctor ranted, motioning with his hands as if he was stuffing his mouth with food "... dinner."

"Any way of stopping it?" Both women question this time, Mary crossing her arms and Rose pushing her hair behind her ear. This made the Doctor grin, his hand sneaking inside his duster and pulling back and into the eye of the public a tube of blue liquid from his jacket. "Anti-plastic!" he told them, tapping the tube lightly with a content grin on his face, "But first I've got to find it." He quickly added, putting the vial back inside his duster.

"How can you hide something that big in a city this small?" he inquired lowly, talking to himself, something that both women noticed but still the blonde countered "Hide what?" The Doctor started to walk away from them and the TARDIS, "The transmitter. The Consciousness is controlling every single piece of plastic so it needs a transmitter to boost the signal." he replied, "Well what would it look like?" Rose frowned, glancing at Mary who has a pensive look on her face.

"Like a transmitter. Round and massive, slap bang in the middle of London. He paces around, agitated, looking around for a clue. A huge circular metal structure... like a dish..." He drones, turning the front of his body to face the two women, unknowingly turning his back on the said dish looking object, he himself was looking for. "Close to where we're standing. Must be completely invisible."

At this point Rose releases a low snort that brings Mary's own attention to her, allowing her brown eyes to fling from Rose to the object she was looking at, the London Eye was looming over 450 feet above them, "Reckon he's noticed?" Rose inquired Mary under her breath as the Doctor continues to rant, "Not one bit." Mary replied, sniggering lowly so that only Rose heard it, "Do I tell him or do you?" the brunette whispered, "What?" The Doctor finally questions as he notices that both women are not paying attention to him, "You do it." Rose nods, smiling up at Mary as if she knew something that Mary didn't.

"What?" the man pressed, quickly shutting up and standing up straight as Mary approached him, his blue eyes training on her plump lips that were quirked up in an amused smile, missing the fact that her hand grabbed him duster clad arm and roughly turned him around, keeping him in place until he finally noticed the eye, Rose shaking her head while looking at them amused.

After finally making the connection he exhaled deeply and muttered with a crazed grin on his face "Oh... fantastic!" taking off without another word, grabbing Mary's hand just mere seconds before he did, leaving Rose to dash after them and Mary to attempt not to faceplant the ground. Rose finally catches up with them and latches onto Mary's free hand, savouring the safety blanket that she always feels when she holds her hand.

"Think of it. Plastic, all over the world. Every artificial thing waiting to come alive. The shop window dummies, the phones, the wires, the cables..." The Doctor began once more, unwillingly releasing Mary's hand, both of them feeling a cold shiver run down their backs from it, "The breast implants..." Rose joked, successfully making both the Doctor and Mary smile and shake their heads fondly, "Still, we've found the transmitter. The Consciousness must be somewhere underneath." the only man of the trio finished.

As Rose let go of Mary and ran off to the side of the bridge, the Doctor turned to the brunette woman and quietly claimed "I cannot guarantee Nicky's safety." causing Mary to roll her eyes and correct him "Mickey." to which the Doctor rolled his eyes at before she continued "Don't worry, I got him and Rose, you just worry about the Nestene Consciousness." "What about down here?" Rose shouts from where she had ran to, Mary quickly joins her, followed by a conflicted Doctor. "Looks like it to me." Mary mused, extending her hand to Rose, who gladly grabbed it, and taking off with her to the manhole that the blonde had pointed out.

Seeing as they were the first ones to take off, the two women were the first to arrive, the Doctor arriving seconds after and instantly kneeling down, twisting the lid off it, allowing a red light and smoke to pour out, the slight smell of burning plastic filling their noses. Upon everyone having gone down the ladder carefully, the Doctor opens the door to another chamber, this one much larger, hotter and covered with the unmistakable smell of burning plastic.

Before them were a couple of stairs that allowed them to go down closer to the Consciousness,  after the first set of stairs they stopped and the Doctor pointed to a huge, orange, wobbling mass in the middle of the chamber and told the two women "The Nestene Consciousness, that's it, inside the vat. A living, plastic creature." As disgusting and lava like it seemed, Mary looked impressed at how it had settled in a containment, Rose on the other hand didn't seem that pleased with it because she couldn't help but mutter "Well, then. Tip in your anti-plastic and let's go."

Mary understood where Rose came from but still couldn't help but let disappointement flash across her features when she glanced back at the blonde, "I'm not here to kill it. I've got to give it a chance." The Doctor rebutted before climbing down to the second platform, walking over to the railings and proclaiming loudly "I seek audience with the Nestene Consciousness under peaceful contract. According to convention 15 of the Shadow Proclamation."
