Gamma Squad: Miss M. Beast Boy. Green Lantern Hal.

It took everything in me not to just let Uncle pass right through me.

I could have just let him wreck havoc on the city of Lagos in the late afternoon light. I knew we wouldn't be able to stop him. Even with the help of Batman's contingency plan, we would be helpless against J'onn's ruthless use of his power unlimited.

His changing form was fluid in nature, matching Garfield's abilities flawlessly. Garfield could barely keep up, with Green Lantern Hal right behind him.

Fire didn't have the same affect on Garfield as it did on me and my uncle. So when the time came, and the bomb was needed, it would be me who would need to set it off from afar.

Luring Uncle from across town to the trap was hard enough a feat in itself. It's taken us an hour to get him to move four blocks. Wrapped in the chaos of the city and Nigerian government, scrambling to respond, we were no match.

Every time I attempted to enter Uncle's mind, I found myself face to face with Darkseid. The titan had completely consumed J'onn's mind. I had no foothold in his conscience. I could only physical beat him down. Even then, I was hesitant.

To beat Uncle, I would also need to keep myself from holding back any source of strength. I needed to be just as unlimited as he was.

It terrified me.

But what was necessary was necessary.

"Alpha squad to Hall, Superman is down, requesting clean out," Conner's voice was like water in the desert as I took the second to tune into the communication system.

"Copy, Zatanna is heading to your location, hang tight."

That was enough reassurance I needed to move forward. Both Conner and Z's squads were secured. Conner would be right there soon enough, helping J'onn, her, Garfield and Hal out of this giant mess.

Garfield, charges are placed. Move with the final phase.

Lambda Squad: Aqualad. Lagoon Boy. Queen Mera.

"Your Majesty!" Lagon rushed to Queen Mera's side, no longer glowing.

Blocking Arthur's trident with one bearer, I swung up with the other. The club end of the water-bearer snagged him in the face. The two of us were shoved apart by force. I barely had time to wipe away the sweat dripping down the side of my face.

Yes, the heat of Havana was almost unbearable. Almost.

The water surrounding us on the beach could not have been better placed. I just needed a way to secure the King's trident before we could fully reclaim the city.

Beta-creatures were consuming Havanna at an alarming rate. But all we could focus on was the task at hand. My water-bearers reabsorbed the water that had been sent in my direction. In one swift turn, the returning wave washed over the King which caused him to stumble.

"My Queen, he is no match for your magic, we only need a few seconds!" I shouted over my shoulder, hoping, praying the two were safe.

I lassoed a wave to my water-bearer and attempted to swipe the trident before King Arthur could recover.

My attempts were futile.

I blocked the weapon with swords, moving against his own attacks. It felt like a dance, except this one was life or death.
