Being around Christian seemed to somehow get a bit easier over time. It's been exactly 8 weeks and 7 days since we broke up- not that I was counting I just found it hard not to.

I found myself up at night, restless, going over all the memories together. The good ones- everything!

And I found myself lying to myself every day about how I really felt. How badly I wanted him and such.

I had exactly 4 months till I'd move to Oregon. Those 4 months couldn't be over fast enough because in exactly 2 weeks- my mother will be walking down the aisle to marry Christian. The guy I'm so utterly in love with!

And tonight I found myself packing an overnight bag to attend my mother's bachelorette party.

I packed some pajamas and a nice dress because my mother's version of a bachelorette party was very different than anyone else's.

She had the whole night planned, a nice spa night- not day, night! A wine tasting and lots of boring activities in the process.

"Zaina!" My mom sang as she walked into my bedroom.

"Yes, mother?" I was annoyed and just wanted to leave already.

But nope she insisted on wearing the perfect outfit for the plane ride. I rolled my eyes as she examined herself in the full-length mirror.

She wore some mom jeans and a loose-fitting blouse. With that, she paired black heels.

"You look amazing! Don't change again!" I lied. She narrows her eyes at me suspiciously.

"Fine whatever I'll wear this. Bring your stuff downstairs the car is here to take us." With that she examined what I was wearing then sighed and walked away.

I looked down at my outfit. I wore tight dark jeans, a button-up blue shirt, and a brown leather jacket over it. With it, I paired some heeled boots.

I thought it looked fine and it matched my curled red hair perfectly.

I shrugged and grabbed my overnight bag and walked out of my bedroom.

In that exact same moment across the hall from me, Christian stepped out of his room in a suit. He was fixing his cuffs when his eyes met mine. He seemed to be in a way, checking me out. The way his eyes traveled down my figure and back up.

He seemed to force a smile.

"You look very nice," I say before he could compliment my outfit.

I felt as if he was always doing it first, for once I'd beat him to it.

He gave a small laugh.

"As do you my belle Zaina." He says.

I tucked my lip in my mouth, thinking. He had to know that saying that out loud- speaking to me as so wasn't right, right? That it would give us away if my mom were present.

Though I suppose at the moment she wasn't present- and there was nothing to give away. Christian and I have nothing between us- at least not anymore.

"Have fun tonight. Oh and remember it's all on me." He gave a wink and started walking down the stairs.

"Where are you going?" I ask suddenly and then instantly regretted it. It was inappropriate of me to just straight up ask him that!

It wasn't my place to ask where he was going and it wasn't any of my business.
