No, she isn't being serious. That wouldn't make her happy. Maybe it would have years ago, but she's much stronger than that now. Yeah, maybe she'll struggle but I never excepted her to say it like that.
"Don't say that." I shook my head as she let tears stain her perfectly freckled cheeks.
"It would make me happy." Her voice was extremely soft, almost like she was scared that if she spoke any louder that she'd break down and start crying.
Even though I sucked at advice and I never knew what to say when people ranted to me or told me their problems, but I decided that I should. I'm usually the better listener than the person that gives advice.
"Hey, what's going on? You're usually never like this..."
Her eyes slowly glanced away from the floor and her eyes locked on mine. You could see the pain washed her eyes. Her dark brown eyes were drowning in an ocean of tears. The look of her broke my heart into more shattered pieces.
"Don't w-worry about me." It sounded like she was struggling to get her words out.
"No, of course I'm going to worry about you. Maybe I've stated a bazillion times how much I hate you and how I want nothing to do with you. But you're my sister and I care about you even though I may not act like it. You care about me, so I'm most definitely going to care about you." As I spoke, I watched as the the tears continued dripping down her face. Her face becoming slightly puffy and her eyes going bloodshot.
"What's up? What's on your mind? Why are you so sad?" Maybe that was too much, but if I wanted to help, she'd have to tell me.
"W-Wilmer." She choked out, a quiet cry flowing out of her mouth when his name slipped passed her lips.
I've never liked him. There's always been something about him that that I've never liked but I could never put my finger on it. I thought he was an amazing boyfriend but since he may have done something to her I'm not exactly sure if I think that anymore.
"What did he do?"
Demi's POV
*Flashback*
"I just thought that we should hang out since we haven't done much together since you've been so busy."
I followed Marissa down the street to wherever she was taking me. She never told me because she wanted to keep it surprise.
We walked side by side down the sidewalk while random strangers passed us before we were rudely interrupted by bright flashes lights flashing us in the eyes, making both of us stop walking and cover our eyes with our arm.
"Where are you two headed to this morning?"
"How's your morning been, Demi?"
Multiple questions were shot at me from different directions, while I tried to push my way through them, but there were far too many.
Max is going to kill me for not telling him I'm going out and for going out without him.
"And this is when I ask you, why didn't you bring Max?"
I shrugged my shoulders as I blocked my face from the men holding the large cameras. I really didn't want any pictures taken of me, but that wasn't going to stop them.
The paparazzi's questions were interrupted when the sound of multiple screams of girls and they were becoming louder, indicating that it was coming closer.
"Demi!" They all screamed, which made me look over in their direction. There was about ten people. I waved at them and shot them a smile before turning back over to the group of paparazzi's.
