My knuckles hit against the wooden door and wiggled the door knob with my opposite hand. Dammit. Of course she'd lock the door, why wouldn't she? What I said probably either triggered or upset her. And she's probably crying and it hurts to know that I'm the reason for her tears. Sure, maybe I don't care much about her and I shouln't because that's what she did to me my entire life, but what I had sad was horrible and I need to be a better person and apologize.

"Demi?" I called, gently knocking on her door again. I've been standing out here for five minutes, and she won't listen to me. If this whole thing was the other way around and I was the one who was locking myself in my room, Demi wouldn't waste her time trying to get inside. And I know that she wouldn't because she's said a lot of shit to me that had made me lock myself in my bedroom and ignore her for days, and not once did she ever try to get into my room. I'm pretty sure she's never even apologized for that.

"Go away, Dani." I heard Demi choke out and you could hear the pain in her voice, you knew she was holding back tears.

"Demetria, if you don't open up this damn door, I'll figure out a way to get in. Open the door, Demi."

I let out a sigh when there was no reply from Demi and I turned on my heels and made my way into the bathroom. Digging through the cabinets, I grabbed the object I was looking for; a bobby pin. I've learned how to pick a lock with one of these when Jade and I had gotten locked out of her house a few times after sneaking out.

Making my way back to Demi's bedroom, I snapped the bobby pin in half and shoved it into the lock. After a few seconds, the door unlatched and I stepped inside the bedroom.

"How did you get in here? Get out." There were tears marking Demi's face which was mixed in with her eye makeup.

"I told you if you didn't open it, I'd open it myself." I smirked, leaning against the door frame. I watched as Demi grabbed the nearest blanket and wrapped herself around it. My smirk disappeared off of my face when I saw Demi stuff her hands underneath her butt.

"Look, I didn't mean to say that. It was stupid and I shouldn't of said that." I'm not the best with giving apolgizes, because usually people are apologizing to me because it's always their fault, or I just feel like I never did anything wrong. But, this was a time where I actually felt to blame for something.

Demi didn't say anything, instead she continued to sit on her hands and stare down at the floor below the bed. I let out a sigh and pushed myself off the wall before walking over to Demi's bed and sitting down beside her.

"I triggered you didn't I?" I asked softly, my voice full of concern.

"Of course I am," She sighed, fresh tears making their way down her face. "I'm always triggered, but it's never gotten to the point where I've done this."

I felt my heart drop to the pit of my stomach. I did this to her? Maybe it was time for me to stop acting like a bitch all the time and then this wouldn't happen.

"Rehab doesn't just fix you, Dani. You don't just go in and come out brand new, okay. I'm never going to be one hundred percent fixed. I'm always going to struggle, and hearing that coming from you doesn't h-help."

I nodded in understandment. I'm so stupid.

"I know that. I was just angry, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it."

I watched as Demi chewed on her bottom lip, the tears on her cheeks slowly beginning to dry.

"It's okay, it's my own fault." I shook my head at Demi's words, slightly moving closer to her.

"No, it's not your fault." I whispered softly before wrapping my arms around her. This was once I've ever showed my life toward her, but I felt like I needed to.

"Hello--" Jade's voice caught off when she realized that I was the one standing at her front door. "What?"

"You haven't answered your calls or texts." I said.

"Have you ever thought that maybe I don't want to talk to you?" She said crossing her arms over her chest.

"But, why? Jade, I didn't do anything." She shook her head at me.

"I just don't want to talk about this anymore..." She whispered, trying not to make eye contact with me.

"This just can't be ignored, okay. You like me, stop pretending that your feelings don't exist."

"You're dating Connor, so my feelings don't matter." She argued.

"Yes, they do matter. How long have you liked me?"

"Since last year..." I caught her words. Since last year and I just found out now? I didn't even know that Jade was possibly gay or bi, I thought she was straight. I mean she was always swooning over guys and has never mentioned liking or being with a girl before. Maybe she's just kept it to herself, because that's what I used to do. She's really the only person who knows that I'm bi, and hopefully she hasn't told anyone else.

        "You should have said something."

"I was scared." She mumbled, her eyes locking on my lips.

        "Scared of what?"

"Of what you'd say or react."

"It's not like I'd do anything but be surprised that you'd have a crush on someone like me."

Our conversation faded away to silence, and it wasn't a comfortable one either. We were staring at each other with no emotions written on our faces. And before I knew it, her lips were gently placed on mine for a quick second, before I placed my hands on her shoulders and pushed her away.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing? I have a boyfriend."

        "I'm sorry."
