It was a few hours after dinner; everyone was getting ready for the night and having their baths. From what you could see- it was prioritized third years all the way to first years and honestly it didn't bother you all that much. It gave you extra time to make detailed notes of each player at Karasuno; their strengths, their weaknesses and how to build upon them (alongside a summary of Nekoma as a team).
"Okay! Baths are open for first years now!" Tanaka announced loudly down the corridor and you opened the door slightly. Stepping out alongside a towel slung over your shoulder with a set of clothes (and some body wash). The guys had said you could get in first, and you appreciated the sentiment but you did think it was kind of strange. You shrugged it off, glancing towards Tanaka who had suddenly stopped. And then you noticed the figure standing by the vending machine- you could immediately tell it was Hinata. His bright orange hair was a huge giveaway although he was acting strange...
"What's wrong Hinata?" you heard Tanaka question carefully.
"Hinata?" you called out, staring at him in confusion. Was...Hinata standing still and silent? When was Hinata completely silent?
"Hey- there's somebody here" Hinata comments and you gulped slighty- just a tiny bit alarmed.
"Somebody here? Where? Who?"
"It's a stranger..." Hinata trails off and you begin panicking even more waving your arms about frantically. You could tell Tanaka was at the very least a little nervous, even if he did try and act though in front of the first years.
"Whatever, don't be ridiculous" Tanaka dismissed "we're the only one's here!"
"It's-" Hinata paused, turning around a weird glint in his eye "a child."
"Huh?" you question. All your panic suddenly vanishing at his revelation.
"A child- aren't we technically children!?" you pointed out, staring at Hinata like he'd lost his head. "For all we know- you could've seen one of us and freaked out for no reason!"
"No! You're seeing things" Tanaka insists and you sigh at his antics. Was he seriously scared at what Hinata had said? "I'm sure you just walked past a mirror and saw your reflection."
"Yeah, you're right. That'd be silly" Hinata mutters and you just shrug your shoulders. It was a possibility.
"Uh huh, you've just gotta be errr, imaging things..."
You glare at him, was he trying to scare you guys? - or was he reassuring himself that nothing was there? Either way, it was pretty silly. You almost laughed at how fearful he looked; it could've been Kageyama and the guys playing some ridiculous prank (and if he was, he was falling for it stupidly). You suddenly heard footsteps behind you and both Tanaka and Hinata screamed. You knew whose those footsteps were- you were pretty familiar with the sound of them by now. You sighed exasperatedly, turning around to see Nishinoya. You squealed at the sight of Nishinoya - it was clear he'd just come out of the bath and his hair! You grinned, running up to Nishinoya- his hair was adorable. You'd never saw it like this! You could've swore he was blushing but you couldn't be sure- the darkness hiding his heated cheeks away as you gushed over him.
"Noya-Senpai! Oh my life- you're hair! It's so cute!" you exclaim loudly.
"W-What! H-Hey! Don't say that so sincerely" Nishinoya stammers and you just poke him.
"Anyway- what's all the racket? Daichi's gonna get angry you know?" Nishinoya questioned. Staring at Tanaka and Hinata who look like they've seen a ghost and you just look between them.
"Here it comes- in 3...2...1..." you mutter under your breath.
"It's just Noya you idiot!" Tanaka screams. Hinata cringes at the sudden change in volume. Coming out from where he was hiding behind Tanaka (rather, using him as a human shield) staring at Nishinoya quizzically.
"Woah, it is him. But he shrank, maybe the ghosts made him shorter!"
You and Tanaka burst out laughing, Tanaka pointing at Nishinoya -and his adorable hair- as if it was the funniest thing in the world.
"Is that why you have spiky hair- so you look taller?"
"Damn it Tanaka! Don't make fun of me or I swear!" Nishinoya yells.
Just then Asahi put his hand on Nishinoya's shoulder and you all freeze. You glancing warily at the tall man with nervous look in your eye.
"Keep your voices down... Daichi might hear you."
All of you scream at once. You clutching onto Nishinoya for dear life while he does the same.
"Guys it's just me- Asahi!" Asahi yells over your screaming and you stare at him.
"Oh my god it is!" you comment, glancing at Nishinoya who was also staring at him with realization. You blushed at your close proximity, slowly releasing your grip on Nishinoya's shirt hoping he wouldn't notice. You wouldn't be surprised if your face was a shade of bright crimson- as you stared at the floor as if it was the most interesting thing in the room.
"GUYS SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" Daichi's booming voice sounded through the corridor and you ran off to go take your bath.
"See you later Noya-Senpai!" you yell behind you, leaving him in the corridor with a small smile on your face. His hair really did look cute...

Despite the darkness outside and your tiredness from all the events that occurred that day, you couldn't get to sleep. Maybe it was to do with all the excitement you had for the Nekoma match ahead of the team; or the adrenaline of being scared by Hinata and Asahi a few hours ago - but you couldn't get any sleep even if your life depended on it. You huffed, rolling over onto your back to stare at the plaster-like void of the ceiling as if it had all the answers. After a few minutes of tossing and turning you realized you weren't going to get any sleep at this rate, and you began to wonder if getting some fresh air would help. Throwing off the bed-sheets and finding some sort of footwear you made your way outside. Staring at the stars in the sky with wonder.
"Huh? (Y/n)?"
At the sound of the same, familiar and comforting voice behind you; you turned around to see Nishinoya staring at you. You giggled at the sight of his hair- it hadn't completely turned back to normal and it stuck up (presumably from how he had been sleeping) in all sorts of directions. Looking into those hazel eyes left you distracted for a moment, unable to say anything merely staring, but you focused your gaze on the nighttime sky to form some sort of coherent words.
"You couldn't sleep either?" you questioned softly, as you sat down slowly on the grass floor. Staring out into the night sky. It was comforting- it wasn't like when you stared outside of your bedroom window. It was more real.
Nishinoya flopped down beside you, lying down on the grass with his arms beneath his head in some sort of make-shift pillow.
"I couldn't- then again the loud snoring from the guys didn't help either" he admitted, smiling at the mentioning of his team. You eventually lied down next to him- the two of you staring at the night sky. Your eyes brightened as a flash of white zoomed across the sky, you turned to Nishinoya with a smile blushing slightly.
"A shooting star! Are you gonna make a wish?" you asked quietly, picking at the grass as you eagerly waited for his answer.
"Sure why not, I think I've already decided what I'm going to wish for" Nishinoya responded, laughing. He couldn't stop staring at you; you looked beautiful underneath the soft glow of the stars. Your smile as you pointed at different constellations you could just about remember form when your father took you stargazing the once. Lying side by side, the two of you seemed even closer. And he found himself liking it. With Nishinoya here- right beside you, you couldn't help but think back to your original plan of trying your best to slightly distance yourself from Nishinoya. For both his sake and yours- yet you find you self unable to. You find yourself loosing control of your emotions as you fall deeper and deeper in love with him. It was inevitable-
You was falling for him. And there was nothing you could do about it.
