For the first time in years, you woke up on time. Your eyes blinking as your unfocused orbs glanced around the room- trying to figure out your bearings. You looked at your alarm clock only to find the figures '07:06' blinking back at you. You were surprised for a moment, however, you guessed you were just excited for the training camp - you grinned springing up from your bed and getting ready for the day. You noticed your side was massively bruised, and discolored in a purple, black fashion and you just figured you got it from practice the previous day. Shrugging your shoulders nonchalantly, you added some plasters and hoped for the best; you was no medical expert but you figured it would need a good few days to go back to normal...And paracetamol for the pain. It just happened when you were a libero- especially with rolling receives. Nishinoya was teaching you what he called 'Rolling Thunder' - and as you watched him for the first time doing the receive you couldn't help but think how cute it was. How proud he was of the name was adorable in it self- and then he paired it with the same excited glint in his eyes and the big smile and you found yourself smiling too. You wanted to use it in the match just to make him happy ( with the words of course) and if the opportunity came you would. You laughed to yourself- the same receive was probably what earned you the bruise on your side however you found yourself not caring. It was totally worth it for the smile on Nishinoya's face.

Ten minutes later you were downstairs eating toast at your kitchen table. Your dad seemed surprised by how early you were- and you couldn't blame him. You were always downstairs late after all, barely having time to get yourself together- never having time to sit down and eat breakfast like a normal person.

"What? Surprised I'm being normal for once?" you grinned mischievously.  He laughed at you before getting his newspaper from the doormat.

"I suppose. You're never on time (Y/n). Is it that boy again?"

You blushed, knowing he was referring to Nishinoya and shook your head. "No! I'm going to training camp today!"

"With the boy" your dad pointed out, and you resisted the urge to sigh loudly.

"Yeah! So? I just love volleyball!"

Your dad just rolled your eyes, muttering a 'sure' before taking a seat and opening his paper and you rolled your eyes at his antics. Your mom came down a few minutes later, also seeming surprised at you;  and you laughed.

"Is it that shocking?!"

"Bet it's the boy (M/n), she's head over heels for him" you dad mutters and you blush deeply, waving your hands in front of you frantically at his words.

"No i'm not!" you squealed. Your mother just laughed at you, and you tried to ignore it, pulling out your phone from your pocket, scrolling through the various magazines saved to your phone. Finally finding an article about Nekoma and making notes on a separate tab.

'Nekoma is all about flexibility and solid receives - so their defense must be pretty solid. Although they probably have just as much offensive power. They're a solid team- and that's where we might fall. Karasuno's team has a bit of an imbalance between defensive and offensive power- so we don't really have good odds to begin with. Their captain- Tetsuro Kuroo is a middle blocker and their setter, Kenma Kozume seems pretty good too.'

You also found all your notes you have on each player at Karasuno. You'll have to tell them each individually your assessments to (hopefully) help them out. Both the strengths and the weaknesses and the team could really use getting to know each other better. The doorbell rang suddenly pulling you out of your thoughts. Quickly putting your plate in the sink and grabbing your bag -which you packed with everything you could possibly need - you made your way to the door. Opening it to find Nishinoya at your doorstep.

"Bye mom! Bye dad!"

"Bye!"

"Good morning Noya-Senpai!~" You greeted Nishinoya happily, skipping down towards the gate.He blushed a little at the nickname and he had a feeling he was never going to get used to it and you giggled at his facial expression. You poked his cheek and his blush deepened- causing you to laugh and him to pout.

"Excited for training camp?" Nishinoya questioned you enthusiastically.

"Yeah!"

He just laughed at you, you seemed much more happy today than you were the last few days and he was just relieved.  He just hoped you'd continue to be happy- he hated seeing you so upset. It struck a cord in him; and he hoped he'd never have to see those tears streaming down your face again. By the time he was released from the confinements of his thoughts, you were several steps ahead of him. Skipping happily and he just smiled. You guys were going to spend a lot more time together- and he was pretty excited too.

"Everybody here?" the coach, who you've come to know as coach Ukai questioned loudly. You blinked, before turning to Kiyoko with a confused look on your face.

"Why is he shouting so loudly when everyone is literally standing in a circle around him?" you whispered to Kiyoko who just seemed to laugh at you. "It's may just be the way his voice is echoing around the gym- makes his voice sound loudly than it actually is."

"Oh" was all you had to say- your mouth comically forming an 'o' shape as you did so.

"Yes sir!"

"We've got four days until the practice game against Nekoma, and after that it'll be time for the inter-high preliminaries; time is short, but we've got a load of stuff to fix. If you sad-sacks expect to win there's only one thing to do: practice, practice and practice!  I want you to keep retrieving until you puke!"

'Wow. This coach is serious- does he have ties with Nekoma or something?'

"Right!" Hinata yells enthusiastically and you laugh. This guy was sure full of energy. You noticed Nishinoya staring at you and you give him a thumbs up.

Training camp officially begins! And you was so ready for it.
