Makenna Bluitt

Today is senior night basketball game. It's very exciting. It's also gonna almost be the last game so everybody is coming.

"Aren't you excited?" Jalen asks as we walk down the hall.

"Yes. Senior night is always so fun." I say.

"What about you? I know you're excited. You got scouts watching you." I say bumping him teasingly.

"I'm a little nervous, but I already know I'm gonna show out." He says confidently.

"Really? Jalen Green... nervous? Isn't that like rare?" I say sarcastically.

He just laughs.

"I'm not a robot. I have feeling too. But since my good luck charm is gonna be there in her cheer uniform, cheering me on, doing crazy flips, and such. I think I'm good." He says kissing my forehead.

"You're so cute!" I blush.

I still haven't been able to tell Jalen. I've tried a couple times, but he's always busy with something.

"Jalen?" I say.

"Yeah?" He looks at me with those brown eyes.

"Never mind." I sigh out.

"You're moving?!" Elijah exclaims.

"Shh! Shut up!" I say quietly.

"Who's gonna help us with work?" Dejuane says.

I just shrug.

"Your parents are such assholes." Tyler says.

"Tell me about it." I sigh.

"We're gonna miss you." Dejuane says.

"Aww." I pout hugging him.

He slowly hugs me back.

"Y'all better stop before Jalen pop out." Elijah chuckles.

"He's too busy to pop out." I say rolling my eyes.

"Oooh, trouble in paradise?" Tyler asks.

"Sort of.. I shouldn't really be mad though. We're all busy our senior year." I say.

"Yeah, but he still has to make time for you." Elijah says.

"Yeah." They all agree.

"It's not like we're gonna stay together forever... we're both D1 athletics. It's not gonna work." I say.

"Don't think like that." Tyler says.

"If you were my girl.. I would make time for you." Dejuane says putting his arm around me.

I just laugh.

"I'm really gonna miss you guys." I pout looking at all of them.

"Bring it in." I say pulling them in a group hug  as they all groan.

"PDA guys." Our teacher says.

"Fuck you." Tyler says with no one hearing but us.

We all laugh.

I really am going to miss them.

We're at the game right now and of course we're winning. Jalen is putting on a show as usual.

Our halftime my parents came out to recognize the seniors. Gladly, they weren't acting out and helped me cheer on Jalen.. along with some other cheerleaders.

It's the 4th quarter and there is 3.5 seconds left. It's a tie game. The tension is high.

It's the other teams ball. They miss their three and Jalen gets the ball. He dribbles down the court and shoots at the half court line.

It goes in and the crowd goes crazy. Jalen looks at me and throws up a heart. As the buzzer buzzes, everyone runs onto the court.

I run up to Jalen and jump into his arms. He catches me holding under my thighs.

"Jalen Green does it again." I say smiling.

"Only because my beautiful charm was here." He says smiling at me.

"Yeah, I see you took my advice." I say tightening my grip around his neck smiling enthusiastically.

"I'd do anything to see that smile." He says.

I blush as he puts me down keeping his hands on my waist looking down at me.

"You and me forever." He says.

My smiles drops.

I have to tell him.

"Jalen I-" I was interrupted.

"Sorry to interrupt, but may I talk to Mr. Green please?" An Auburn scouts says.

Jalen looks at me for approval.

"He's all yours." I fake smile.

I watch him as he walks off.

"Aren't you proud of him?" I hear a familiar voice say.

I turn around to see Bree and Michael, Jalen's parents.

"Yes, of course. He deserves the world." I say admiring him as he talks to the scout.

"You guys remind me of young us. The young love we had." Bree says smiling.

"Yeah, it's crazy how long y'all lasted. I hope me and Jalen will last like you guys." I sigh.

"Of course y'all will. All it takes is trust, love, and loyalty." Bree says.

I nod and sigh.
