Jai had been thoroughly shaken by that first session; which had mercilessly eroded the mask of perfection that she like to assume she had. This doctor wasn't one to be messed with. As a result of this being well established she began to open up - and face up to the fact that she was indeed damaged.
In her room she sat listening to music trying to figure out just how she had been able to hide from herself for so long; the cracks were able to be so easily absorbed into her subconscious mind that they would have never shown up otherwise. Chris wore his scars on the outside for the world to see and take note of but they were more alike than different. A mixture of music and a deep exhaustion lulled her into a deep slumber.
As for Christopher he was desperate to escape group therapy -unfortunately for him no one was going to give him any leniency due to his status; group therapy was for everyone, he muttered to himself as he trudged into the blue and grey room which was given added life by a large lime green ceiling on the walls lay many motivational quotes. A gaze through the window would reveal a rather large pool which as adjunct to a large basketball court. It made him long for home, but the label had been adamant he would complete his time in rehab. The risk of losing his recording contract was one far too large to take.
Dr. Jameson strode into the room with an easy and confident glide, his eyes surveying for the patients who were supposed to be in there somewhere. A quick glance at his watch revealed that it was 1pm on the dot - he was actually late by about five minutes; the room seemed to be completely empty or so he thought until his eyes made four with Christopher's.
He had been sitting quietly in the semi-shadows of a darker corner within the room - the corner nearest to the pool, it was jarring to him just how quiet the guy seemed to be. At 36 Dr. Dwayne Jameson was a mere 6 years older than him; he could easily recall the true glory days of Chris Brown because his sister was such a major fan. Somehow he had allowed the media perception to taint his judgement even if just a little - the other phycologists on the team had told him to be very weary of him, but being in that room he didn't feel uneasy in fact he felt at rest. His mother was a light-worker and he was very aware of energies and auras, his energy was peaceful evening though his spirit was disturbed he'd have a good time disecting this case.
"It's nice to see that you're on time Chris, in fact you got here earlier than I did, how are you doing today?"
I took a little time to feel this guy out- I had gotten used to fake niceness, he seemed genuine but one could never be too sure. We locked eyes again and he didn't give me any weird vibes seemed to be around my age; a positive and a negative. As much as I hate being here I still had a desire to be properly assisted especially since I was a dad now. However age is just a number and so I decided to give him a chance.
"I'm aite"
"I know that you can really ball man- how about we have a one on one while we wait for the others, I was a top baller in college ."
I watched his face light up as a competitive glint gleamed from within his eyes, suddenly Chris felt more like a potential home boy than a patient.
