*Souline's POV

The ocean was beautiful and cold in the beginning. Jack had to push me in of course. He gave me no chance to adjust to the cold.
After several laughs and splashing around in the water, we decided to get out of the water so Lavender doesn't get cold. We had the best time ever. I think it was the first time, we genuinely enjoyed each other's company without any worries. We laughed so much I thought my cheeks are going to fall off if we don't get out of the water anytime soon.

Jack dried Lavender up with a towel and put her little hoodie on her, because it got a little windy out here even though the sun was still shining. He also put a cap on her head. They were both wearing a cap now. It looked so damn cute. Both were sitting in front of me and I just enjoyed watching him be a dad. The way he was talking to her. The way he was trying to make her laugh. The way he was smiling while looking at her. The way he was watching her every move not wanting to miss any second of her. He loves her with all his heart, with everything he has. My heart was melting. I really liked him.
I decided to take out my phone and capture this beautiful moment. My view was breathtaking right now. I wanted to have this happy moment to look back on it.

We were playing around with Lavender until she started rubbing her eyes which meant she was getting tired

We were playing around with Lavender until she started rubbing her eyes which meant she was getting tired.

"Is Lavi ready to go night night?" Jack gave her a peck on the cheek. "Is it okay if I'll try to get her to sleep?" he asked me while picking Lavender up from the blanket.

"Of course. I'll just lay here and enjoy the view." Neither did he know, he was the view I was talking about.

Jack started walking around with Lavender and I could not help but take some more pictures of them. If you look at them, all you see is pure love. He really was a great dad. This little girl was his whole entire world and he would do anything to see her happy.

After like 20 minutes, Lavender finally fell asleep and Jack carefully put her down and put a blanket over her

After like 20 minutes, Lavender finally fell asleep and Jack carefully put her down and put a blanket over her. God, she was sleeping so peacefully. Not a care in the world. Kids have the best life. They sleep, eat, play and then do it all over again. Being an adult is hard, sometimes I wish I could go back to being a kid.

"You're a great dad." I smiled.

"And you're great with kids." He smiled back at me.

"No really. How do you do this? The way you handle this new life is admirable. I can't imagine how hard this must be, but it looks so easy when I watch you be a dad to this little angel." I smiled looking at Lavender knocked out. "She's going to have the best, most loving and exciting life ever, thanks to you." I added.

"Stand up." he insisted holding his hand out for me.

I was confused for a second but did like he told. I took his hand and the moment I got up he pulled me into a hug. We were standing there, hugging each other. Even though it was warm outside and we've been in the ocean before, he still smelled so good. I didn't want to let go of him, but I had to. This was wrong.

"What's wrong?" he got confused.

"Jack.. we can't be doing this. This is wrong. You have a girlfriend. You have a whole ass family."

It got quiet.

"What do you mean when you say 'we can't be doing THIS'?" he stressed the word 'this'.

"Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about!" I yelled quietly, not wanting to wake Lavender up.

"We're two good friends hugging each other? What's wrong with that?"

"Two good friends? Is that what you tell yourself? Okay. Then we're just two good friends, Jack." I said kind of annoyed.

Was he being serious? Two good friends? Maybe he is right. Maybe we're really just two good friends and I'm seeing something that's not there.

"JAACK!" A woman suddenly yelled making us both look into the direction it was coming from.

"Mom?" He asked. "I thought you're picking her up around 6?"

"Well it already is 6, jack. I was calling you, but you didn't answer your phone. Kinda knew I would find you here if you're not upstairs." she explained.

"Oh. I'm sorry mom." he went up to hug her.

His mom was really pretty. She seemed so nice.

"It's fine, I mean I found you." she grinned and then looked over at me. "And you must be the famous Souline, Jack won't stop talking about?" she got closer.

"Mom, are you serious?" He started blushing and so did I.

He was talking about me? Why would he tell his mom about me? What did he tell her?

"That must be me." I smiled standing up. "Really nice meeting you Mrs. Avery."

"Oh I'm no Avery. I'm Mrs. Stanford, but you can call me Kristin, sweetheart." she embraced me into a hug.

"Oh my god I'm sorry. I didn't know." I blushed again.

"No problem at all. How would you know unless Jack told you about it." She laughed. "Well, I really don't want to interrupt you guys any longer, I'm just here to pick up my granddaughter. Looks like she had a great day." She smiled down at her sleeping body.

"She had a great day. I think she fell in love with Souline. They were having the best time ever." he packed up her stuff.

We packed up our stuff and accompanied his mom and Lavender to their car.

"I'm going to go grab her stuff real quick." he said when we got to the car.

"I already did that and I left some food upstairs for you guys. I had a quick stop at In-N-Out. I thought you guys would be hungry." she said while putting Lavender into her seat.

"You're the best mom." he gave her a peck on the cheek.

"I know." She laughed. "Alright, we're heading home now. The girls are waiting for Lavender."

"It was a pleasure meeting you Kristin and thank you for the food. So nice of you."  I said giving her a goodbye hug.

"Of course." She smiled at me. "I'll call you tomorrow, I love you son. " She hugged him and got into the car.

When his mom drove off, I felt the urge to leave as well. I knew this could only get awkward after what had happened at the beach before his mom showed up.

"Hey.. I think it's time for me to go home as well." I said not willing to look him into the eyes.

"Please stay." he said taking a step forward. "Let's go upstairs. Eat something and then I'll show you something. Please."
