Jayden
Today I walked out of my house early to go paint something before school but also to go meet Kenzie. Yesterday, she hadn't gone home. Rosie had called me to check if she was with me. She had never appeared at my door step. We had agreed to have some time to ourselves after the game. Kenzie had text me back later saying that she was okay and that it took her more time than expected to retrieve the CD for Sophie.
I was at the school and I decided that today I would go around the football field to draw. I took out my sketchpad and various pencils to draw. I was intensely drawing every aspect of the scene when from far away I spotted a girl brown haired girl running on the track field. Kenzie. She had her hair in a ponytail, like she always did. Bet, she was warming up for later on in the day. She was the star athlete, even though she'd say that she wasn't. I smiled. I packed my things and began walking towards her.
She had gone to go sip some water. When I noticed it wasn't her. it was the same brown hair and from far away it was the same hazel eyes, it was just a more tanned and taller version. Rosie. It was her cousin. I continued walking her way. Maybe she could tell me how Kenzie was. I wondered why Kenzie wasn't here today. She usually was. When I looked at where Rosie was, she had walked close to the gym. I began running after her.
"Hey, Rosie! Wait up." I stopped running because she had stopped. I walked up to her.
"What's up, Scott?" Rosie had the tendency of calling me by my last name. I rolled my eyes.
"How you been?" I was really looking forward talking with Kenzie. She laughed. What was so funny?
"Scott, she's fine. She just came home late. You'll see her later, Jayden," Rosie said.
"Was I that obvious? Forget it. Okay thanks Rosie," I said. She laughed, waved goodbye and left. Why had Kenzie gotten home late?
