Kenzie

The boys all left with Uncle Si and I felt empty. I felt like I had a hole inside that no matter what I tried to think of or do, would it in any way fill up.

Jayden was still in my mother's office, it was a bit hard to know if Jayden was in good terms with my mother or not. I would probably be eavesdropping if I weren't feeling all of this ick.

"Kenny...Kenny...Kenzie...MACKENZIE!"

"Huh?" I asked. I was so lost right now.

"Are you okay? Since you've came up here, you haven't moved from your seat or even spoken," Rosie moved over on my bean bag chair.

"It's nothing, just thinking about...stuff," I said. I would have told her what the stuff was, by even I was a bit puzzled about the whole conversation that had rolled out with Uncle Si. One minute I had returned with clothes for the boys the next I was being called so Uncle Si could see my eyes. This was all so hard to fathom.

"Stuff?" Rosie raised an eyebrow. I nodded.

"Fine, if you don't want to tell me. Just atleast smile, Justin, Tony and Isabella think your sick or mad or something," I heard a hint of anger. I gave her a nod and she went back to watching Grown Ups with the rest of them.

Great, if being rich were the only thing I had to handle. Now I had to worry about these supernatural things that happen to me. The funny thing is I never ever came to question or freak out about it. It felt like this was something normal. I was sure if I tried to speak about this with anyone they would sure to call me crazy.

Sigh.

All through my body, I felt anxiety. Something about Uncle Si's last words had me on edge. Something told me that when the boys walked out the front door I wouldn't ever see them again.

"You know sweetie, your gut feeling always seems to be right," a sweet comforting voice said. I turned around and my mother walked towards me. She walked closer until she held me between her arms. Somehow I had wandered out of the game room and out towards my balcony.

"Mom, I missed you," I whispered into her shoulder.

"I've missed you too, Mackenzie," my mother responded.

"How has your father, Franklin and Sophie been," she asked. I pulled away a bit to take a good look at her.

"Dad and Franky have been at the law firm most of the time. If Sophie isn't home, she's at school or at a friends house," I said. Just the sound of those words coming out of my mouth I noticed that I haven't spent time with my own family.

"That sounds like the usual. How have you been?" That was the real question. No matter how hard I tried no words could explain how I felt.

"Mom, have you ever felt like there is something out there, something so out of normal but it feels normal to you," I said. Silence took over. My mother just looked out into the world.

"I know exactly what you mean. Are you talking about the boys?" My mother went straight to the subject.

"How did you-," I said.

"Know? You can call it mother's intuition. By the way, that boyfriend of yours, Jayden, is a very good boy. I told him you had my permission to go to Greece with him and his parents," she looked at me and smiled. I felt my cheeks feel warmer.

I knew I should be esctatic but it really wasn't feeling it.

"Thanks. The boys they're different. They feel like family. Whenever I'm thinking of something they always find a way to sneak themselves in my thoughts," I waited a moment to see if my mother would say anything. She didn't. So I continued.
