I woke up on Sunday morning to find the room blazing with winter sunlight. I sat up quickly and instantly regretted it. I groaned and slowly layed back down. I looked over at Harry and saw him staring over at the other side of the room. I followed his gaze and saw screens clouded around one of the beds.
"Who?" I asked.
"Colin. Dobby was here too." I nodded.
Seeing that we were awake, Madam Pomfrey came bustling over with a breakfast trays and then began bending and stretching Harry's arm and fingers.
"All in order," she said as he clumsily fed himself porridge. I tried not to laugh. I really did. But I could t help myself. He glared at me. "When you've finished eating, you may both leave."
Once she left he flung some of his porridge at me. I gaped at him.
"You'll be sorry you did that, Potter!" I said.
"I'm sure I will." He said sarcastically.
I began to hum and play with my ring. A look of fear came over his face. I stopped after a few seconds and got up. He carefully got up. Once he saw that he could move he stood up. Well he tried. I had numbed his legs.
Harry and I dressed as quickly as we could and hurried off to Gryffindor Tower, desperate to tell Ron, Hermione and Bailey about Colin and Dobby, but they weren't there. We left to look for them.
As Harry and I passed the library, Percy strolled out of it, looking in far better spirits than last time we'd met.
"Oh, hello, Harry and Karlee," he said. "Excellent flying yesterday, really excellent. Gryffindor has just taken the lead for the House Cup-you each earned fifty points!"
"You haven't seen Ron, Bailey or Hermione, have you?" said Harry.
"No, I haven't," said Percy, his smile fading. "I hope Ron's not in another girls' toilet..."
Harry and I forced a laugh, watched Percy walk out of sight, and then headed straight for Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. I couldn't see why Ron, Bailey and Hermione would be in there again, but after making sure that neither Filch nor any prefects were around, I opened the door and heard their voices coming from a locked stall.
"It's us," Harry said, closing the door behind us. There was a clunk, a splash, and a gasp from within the stall and we saw Hermione's eye peering through the keyhole.
"Harry! Karlee!" she said. "You gave us such a fright-come in-how's your arm? How's your ribs?"
"Healing." I replied.
"Fine," said Harry, squeezing into the stall. An old cauldron was perched on the toilet, and a crackling from under the rim told me they had lit a fire beneath it. Conjuring up portable, waterproof fires was a specialty of Hermione's.
"We'd've come to meet you, but we decided to get started on the Polyjuice Potion," Bailey explained as Harry, with difficulty, locked the stall again. "We've decided this is the safest place to hide it."
"Gods this stall is tiny! Capacious extremis!" The room grew until it was comfortable for us all and the cauldron to be in there. "Undetectable Extension Charm."
"Nice one, K." Said Bailey.
Then Harry and I started to tell them about Colin, but Hermione interrupted.
"We already know-we heard Professor McGonagall telling Professor Flitwick this morning. That's why we decided we'd better get going-"
"The sooner we get a confession out of Malfoy, the better," snarled Ron. "D'you know what I think? He was in such a foul temper after the Quidditch match, he took it out on Colin."
