I spotted Percy and Annie sitting down by the dock. It looked like they were arguing. Just as I was about to go and see what was wrong, Annie stood up and stormed off.

I followed her and shouted "Annie wait up!" But she just kept going. "Annie wait! What's wrong."

She spun around and I saw tears in her eyes.

"Annie! What happened with Percy?" I said.

"He's...he's...UGH!" She shouted. "He's just so annoying!"

Her tears started to fall and she turned away. I turned her around and pulled her into a hug. "I know. But he'll get over it. Whatever happened. We'll all get pushed into some deadly thing where we have to save everyone and you two will make up."

She laughed. "Yeah. Thanks Karls."

"No problem, Annie. What are best friends for?"

It was a few days later and Percy and Annie were still fighting. would spend the morning training, reading or practicing spells with Annie. And in the afternoons I would either be training with Percy or listening him complain about Tyson and Annie. I was stuck in the middle of my best friends. It always happened with Mione and Ron back at Hogwarts, but this time I didn't have Harry.

That morning Annie wanted to train, so I did. And then later, guess what Percy wanted to do. Train!

After lunch, I worked out in the arena with Percy cabin. Swordplay had never been my strength, I had always been better with my dagger and bow. But I tried my best anyway because Percy asked me to. We kept going until it was time for archery.

We went to archery class, even though it wasn't the same without Chiron teaching. I never really needed to go, but it was the one class that Chiron taught that I was actually interested in.

We scaled the climbing wall in full lava-and-earthquake mode. And in the evening we did border patrol. Even though Tantalus had insisted we forget trying to protect the camp, some of the campers had quietly kept it up, working out a schedule during our free times. One night I would have it with Percy and the next with Annie. I was slowly going crazier. It was starting to reach an unhealthy level of crazy. My normal level was OK but this was just bad. Sleep deprived and stressed was not a good look for me.

And at night, I had more dreams of Grover. Sometimes, I just heard snatches of his voice. Once, I heard him say: It's here. Another time: He likes sheep.

I thought about telling Annabeth about my dreams, but I would've felt stupid. I mean, He likes sheep? She would've thought I was crazy. Plus she was already stressed enough.

The night before the race, Will, Char, Lee and I finished our chariot. Our whole cabin had decided that I should head the project. It was wicked cool. We had asked some Hephaestus kids to make the metal parts in the armory's forges. Will and I sanded the wood and put the carriage together. It was yellow and white, with sunbeam designs on the sides and a lyre painted on the front. Charlotte pained it all, with the help of Lee. It was hard for me to decide who to ride with me so I let everyone vote between Will, Char, and Lee since they had worked the hardest on it.

"OK." Said Lee. "The votes have been counted. The winner is-" Michael handed him a price of paper "Charlotte!"

I walked over to her and hugged her. "Yay! Girl time! We'll teach those boys not to underestimate girls!"
