We landed on the ground with a thump. I felt rain pelting my head and lightning lighting up the sky. Someone had made Zeus mad. Probably my dad. I looked around and saw we were standing in front of an old rickety shack on a rock, in the middle of the ocean.
"Hagrid?" I yelled over the noise of the storm, "What are we doing here?"
"We need to pick one more kid here. He's gonna be your classmate. His name is Harry Potter."
"Okay."
Hagrid knocked. BANG! BANG! BANG! No one answered. He knocked again. BANG! BANG! BANG! Still, no one answered. He knocked one more time. BANG! BANG! BANG! I guess he hit the door too hard because it came off the hinges ad fell flat on the floor.
When I looked inside I saw a man, a woman, and a pig of a child. And that's putting it nicely. The mad had a gun pointed at us. Instinctively I tapped Sunbeam and notched an arrow.
"Karlee don't." said Hagrid, "This is the family we came here to find."
"Get out!" Boomed the man, "You are trespassing on private property."
"Oh shut it, Dursley, ya' great prune."
Hagrid turned around, picked up the door and put it back in its frame.
"Get out! I will call the police." The man, Dursley, said.
"No one's calling the police," said Hagrid. He looked at the fat boy and said, "Harry, I haven't seen you since you were just about as big as my hand. You got quite a bit bigger I see."
"I'm not Harry!" The boy said.
"I am." A boy stepped out from behind a wall. He had dark brown hair and green eyes, with a lightning blot shaped scar on his forehead. He looked strangely familiar.
"Well of course you are! Happy birthday Harry!" Hagrid pulled a smashed box out from his jacket. "I might have sat on it."
Harry opened it and his eyes widened. "Thank you!"
"I'm Hagrid! Keeper of the Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts! Surely you know all about Hogwarts!"
"Er...No," Harry said. "Sorry," he added when he saw Hagrid's expression.
"Sorry?" Barked Hagrid, turning to stare at the Dursleys, who shrank back into the shadows. "It's them as should be sorry! I knew yeh weren't gettin' yer letters but I never thought yeh wouldn't even know abou' Hogwarts, fer cryin' out loud! Did yeh never wonder where yet parents learned it all?"
"All what?" asked Harry.
"ALL WHAT?" Hagrid thundered. "Now wait jus' one second!"
He had leaped to his feet. In his anger, he seemed to fill the whole hut. The Dursleys were cowering against the wall.
"Do you mean ter tell me," he growled at the Dursleys, "that this boy-- this boy!--knows nothin' abou' --about ANYTHING?"
"I know some things," he said. "I can, you know, do math and stuff."
But Hagrid simply waved his hand and said, "About our world, I mean. Your world. My world. Yer parents' world."
"What world?"
Hagrid looked as if he was about to explode.
"DURSLEY!" he boomed.
Vernon, who had gone very pale, whispered something that sounded like "Mimblewimble." Hagrid stared wildly at Harry.
"But yeh must know about yer mum and dad," he said. "I mean, they're famous. You're famous."
"What? My--my mum and dad weren't famous, were they?"
