"Bring the queen to the safe place!"Everyone was scared and crying at the same time. I saw the dark smoke far away from here. All of the warriors went down to the village with their horses while carrying a carriage with them. Some of the servants helped in getting a water from the river using a dipper and barrels. I don't know what to do. I was panicking and everyone seems so busy.
"Come here." I lifted my head up and see the General. She pulled my hand as we walked. I just let her dragged me into a safe room. I saw the queen inside shaking nervously.
"What is happening?" I heard her whispered and cried.
"We will go there and investigate." The General told us. She looked at me and smiled. "Stay here."
"J-Jeongyeon.." I nearly cried when I remembered Jeongyeon and her baby.
"I will come back.. and you will see that I am with her," she assured me before leaving the safe room. I turned around and see the princess crying silently. I think she is very tired of what's happening here in her kingdom. I sit down beside her and didn't talk.
"I am a failure." She said. "I failed helping my people. I failed securing them. I failed them..as a queen.."
"Shhh.."I stopped her and shook my head. "You did what you have to do. Don't worry too much. Everything will be okay." I smiled and hugged her. I know everything will not be okay. Her life is in danger, even her kingdom. But this is the only way that I could comfort her.
It's already sunset when everyone outside keep quiet. I slowly peek outside through the window to see what they are doing and I saw the people...crying.
Every person was hugging a dead body as they knelt down on the ground. Tears were falling from their eyes. They are all crying silently. They were all dirty because of the fire. Few minutes later, someone knocked on the sliding door, when it opened, it was Manoban. Her face cannot be painted and she looks very sad.
"T-The fire already stopped," she said and look down on the ground. "But they are so many dead people..."
The princess starts crying and run outside I went with her to assist her. She is carrying so many emotions inside her head. Our kingdom looks like a evacuation center right now. I saw the General closed the gate and went to our position.
"We should let them stay here, they have no houses." the General informed us. The princess nodded and placed her hand on her chest as she cries silently. "You should rest your highness, I will take care of this." the general said. I looked at her and she looked at me too. It's like we are communicating through our eyes. She nodded at me and walk away with Manoban.
"Let's go your highness." I weakly smiled at her.
"Jennie, it's very dangerous for them to stay here." she whispered as she looks at her people.
"It's better for them to stay here than to stay outside your highness, we have no choice." I sadly said and assisted her inside.
I gave her a cup of water and let her sleep for a moment. She doesn't deserve this kind of problem. The princess is smart but she is still young to experience what is happening here. She is so emotional and her people makes her weak.
I slide her door and saw the General with her men. Some of the men were carrying the dead bodies while putting a white cloth on them. I saw the villagers crying and shouting because of pain they felt. I am so determined to know who is behind this. He has no heart to let this people die!
