Chapter 32

"Stop that already!"

The warrior pulled Jihyo from me. Jihyo was glaring at me and I glared at her too. "Don't visit her anymore if you two are just going to fight," The warrior scolded us. "And you? Do you want to be punished again?" I looked away. "Go home now Jihyo." The warrior grabbed her hand and walked her outside.

I leaned my back at the wall. I knew it, she's the one who poisoned the Queen. But why? Why did she do it? Did Jug-Eum paid her? What's with Jug-Eum? I know there's something on him that I really should know. But, how will I determine what is it?

I opened my eyes when I heard a metal sound close to me, then I saw Mina in front of me. She brought me my dinner. She sits down and looked at me in the eyes. I can't tell if she's mad at me or not. But I know she will believe in me.

"Mina." I crawled closed to her and check the warrior on the door. He was busy looking outside and not minding us at all.

"I..I brought you your dinner." She said. I noticed that her eyes were swollen.

"What happened to you? Did you cried?" I asked her.

She looked at me in the eyes again before she let out a sigh. "Why did you hide it from me?" She suddenly asked.

I widened my eyes. I look stupid right now, does she know already? "What?" I blinked fast.

"Don't act as if you don't know what I'm talking about." I bit my lower lip to stopped myself from crying. "Why? When are you going to tell me that.. that you have a relationship with her all this time?" She asked.

"Who told you that?"

"It doesn't matter." She wiped her tears. "I'm not mad at you for liking her. I'm disappointed because you hid this from me. I thought.. I thought we are friends?"

"We are Mina--"

"But why?" she asked again.

I sighed. She knew already and it's my fault that she's acting this way. "We..We are not cousins Mina," I told her. "I hid it from you because I don't want you to stay away from me....because you're the only who stayed with me. I know we started as enemies.. but.. in the end, we stayed together like sisters. I don't want you to be mad at me that's why I hid it from you and I'm so sorry." I hate my tears, they betrayed me as they fall from my eyes.

"Is...Is that why you poisoned the queen?" she asked.

I quickly shook my head. "No. I didn't," I entered my hands in the space between the bars of the jail and hold her hand. "You knew I won't do that.."

"Then who did?" She asked me.

"When you tasted the soup, did you get poisoned as well? No right?" I asked her. She thinks for a moment and realized that I was right. "Because it was Jihyo. She is the one who did it. I don't know what's going on but I think she is working with someone." I told her.

"Why won't you tell that to the King?" she whispered.

I took back my hand and looked down. "Because they won't believe me, and they will hurt the King more. And I think Jihyo is working with Chin Hwa because they have plans on taking this kingdom." I lowered down my voice.

"So what if they've decided to sentenced you to death?" she asked

"I know Jisoo will protect me and save me." I proudly said.
