Chapter 23

"We didn't wake you up yesterday because you really look so tired."

Mina is currently wiping my body using a wet cloth. She said I had a fever after what happened yesterday. Imagine, I slept for almost 18 hours. I was really tired and I don't get enough much sleep because everyday is like a busy day and it's very hard for me to work because I am not really used to work everyday and all day.

"I'm sorry.. I promise I will help you guys today," I felt guilty. They are all also tired but they didn't complained.

"It's fine, the Queen orders us not to wake you up until you feel better," she smiled at me. "And it makes me feel sick what happened yesterday night." she sadly said

"Why? What happened? Did he hurt you too?" I worriedly asked her

She shook her head and let out a deep sigh. "Everyone went back to sleep early since... the Queen and King had their honeymoon last night."

Oh.. They already did their honeymoon. They already did what they have to do since they are meant for each other.

"Oh." I looked away and leaned my back on the wall.

"I'm just so stupid to watch them outside their room. I saw their shadow.. I saw the King kissed the Queen before they turn off the light." She teared up.

"Hey.." I hold her hand. She really looks like she is about to cry. "Don't cry." I smiled at her.

"It's just hurt me... I loved her. I showed my love to her first, but why she won't choose me?" She wiped her tears. "I wish I just didn't keep the Queen's secret and tell it to the General." She frowned.

"What secret?" I asked her curiously. She looks at me as her eyes widened. She looks surprised that she spill something that she shouldn't.

"N-Nothing..." she shuttered. "I'm going now Jen, see you later." she smiled before leaving me here in our room. I looked outside the window thinking what's the Queen's secret? Is it about killing Jisoo? Does she know something about Jisoo?

I immediately stood up and went to the other servants. I saw them doing their job as usual.

"Are you feeling better now Jennie?" Jihyo asked me.

"Yeah," I nodded

"That slap knocks you off?" She chuckled. I glared at her, how could she make fun of what happened to me yesterday? "Now, deliver this to the King, General and the Queen. This is their breakfast." She sai before handing me a tray full of foods. I simply obeyed her and walked towards the Queen's room.

I saw the Queen wearing a white silky hanbok, the King is wearing a luxurious blue hanbok while the General is wearing his black armored suit. They looked at me when I slid the door open.

"Oh this is the maid that I was talking about." Chin Hwa proudly said when he saw me.

"The one you slapped?" The Queen annoyingly asked. "You don't have any rights to hurt one of my servants!" She yelled

"He did that because your servant is not doing her job properly." I was surprised when the King defended Chin Hwa.

So she already left me hanging right? She already chose the King's life. Even the Queen looks so surprised from what she had said. Chin Hwa smirked. I bit my lower lip and put down the tray for them to eat. The Queen looks at me with pity.
