"Why did you suddenly changed your mind?"She turned around to look at me as her left eyebrow raised at my question. I didn't looked away from her stare. She was currently training her men to do what they have to do since we are locked up inside. It feels like we are on quarantine.
"You go here to ask me that?" she chuckled
"Obviously." I answered. "And why won't you just answer me?"
"That's for the best."
"But we could pretend.." I sighed. I looked so desperate in front of her.
"No we can't. Go back to your work." She coldly said and turned around to continue what she's doing. She just.. ignored me. And so what about it? I don't care. If she wants to die then so be it!
But if she dies, I will live here forever.. Ugh stupid General!
I washed the clothes using the big basin that I always use. I also learned how to wash clothes properly. Slowly, but surely. When I finished them washing all the clothes. Sana suddenly called me.
"Jennie!" she yelled.
I turned and looked at her. She is in the farm wearing a farmer's clothes and hat. She gestured her hand to me and that tells me to go to her. I quickly followed her and walked towards her. The mud on the ground suddenly disgusts me. I will not step on this kind of land. Never.
"You already finished your job right? Now help us plant vegetables here so we can still survive. Change your clothes." She strictly said. I sighed in defeat. I have no excuse but to plant vegetables with them.
I changed my hanbok into a farmer's cloth. I look so poor. I wanted to scream because I don't know how. They will just hate me for being stupid in doing this job. I lifted my head up and saw the sun shines so brightly and it hurts my eyes. I quickly look away and lifted my arms.
"My skin..." I pouted.
"Jennie! Come here already you're so slow!" I heard Sana yelled again.
"I am coming!" I rolled my eyes and run towards them. I slowly step on the muddy land where they are planting. I saw them watched me as I tried walking towards their position.
"You're acting as if you're rich," Sana chuckled. "Get your ass over here."
Duh! It's because I am really rich.
I pretend that I didn't heard her and just tried to walk as I felt how watery it is. It feels like I am stepping on a sticky jelly. I sighed in relief as I already crossed that muddy land.
"So slow." Sana rolled her eyes and gave me a basket. "Go on plant those rice plants." She said and walked away.
"Where are you going?" I asked her
"Resting. It's your turn now." I grind my teeth. She is just doing this so she can hang out with Mina and Tzuyu. This bitch.
But what I am going to do? I am already here. I observe first the other servants as they plant the rice on the land. I slowly followed them step by step as I bend my back so I can reach the ground.
"Owww... It hurts already.." I weakly said.
"We are already done Jennie. Do you want us to help you?" one of the servant asked.
"It's fine.. You should get some rest." I smiled, they just nodded and walked away. I am alone now planting the leftover rice plant in my basket. I wiped my sweat on my forehead using the back of my hand. This is so very tiring. I wonder if this is how the farmers felt in the modern days now. Does their back hurts? Does they feel the heat of the sun?
